You know what? Hotel Demas City totally surprised me – and I mean that in the best way possible. When I first walked into the lobby, I was honestly expecting your typical budget-friendly place with maybe some worn carpets and that faint musty smell older hotels sometimes have. But this place actually has character, which is pretty rare for a three-star spot these days.

The thing that really struck me was how the staff seemed to genuinely care about getting things right. Check-in was smooth (no awkward waiting around while they figured out their computer system), and the front desk guy – I think his name was Marco – actually gave me useful tips about the neighborhood instead of just handing over a generic tourist map. The rooms are clean and functional, nothing fancy but everything works properly. I mean, the shower has decent water pressure, the AC doesn’t sound like a freight train, and the WiFi actually reaches every corner of the room – honestly, that’s more than I can say about some four-star places I’ve stayed at.

What I really appreciated was the location itself. It’s tucked into this area where you’re close enough to the main attractions that you’re not spending half your day on public transport, but far enough away that you’re not dealing with constant street noise and tourist crowds right outside your window. There’s a great little coffee place just around the corner that opens early (perfect if you’re one of those people who needs caffeine before facing the world), and I noticed several decent restaurants within easy walking distance. The neighborhood has that lived-in feel where actual locals go about their daily business – you’ll see people heading to work in the morning, kids walking to school, that sort of authentic city rhythm that makes a place feel real rather than like some sanitized tourist bubble. Parking can be a bit tricky if you’re driving, but there’s a public garage about two blocks away that’s reasonably priced. One small thing – the elevator is a bit slow, so if you’re on the upper floors and in a hurry, you might want to factor in an extra few minutes. But honestly, for what you’re paying and the overall experience you get, Hotel Demas City delivers exactly what it promises without any unpleasant surprises.
