The building itself has that solid, old Munich character, thick walls that actually keep sound out, which was a blessing during Oktoberfest season when I stayed there. I mean, you can still hear the city humming if you really listen, but it’s more like a gentle backdrop than chaos.

What I loved most was having a proper kitchen – not just a mini-fridge and microwave situation, but actual counter space where I could spread out breakfast from the Viktualienmarkt, which is literally a ten-minute stroll away. The bedroom gets great morning light without being blindingly bright, and the bed was honestly more comfortable than my own at home (I’m still a little bitter about that). The whole space feels bigger than it probably is because everything’s arranged thoughtfully, nothing crammed into corners or awkwardly placed. Parking was actually manageable too, which anyone who’s driven in Munich will tell you is practically a miracle – there’s street parking that doesn’t require a engineering degree to figure out, and a few garages within walking distance if you want to play it safe.
