Overview
First Impressions
Walking up to Hotel Nymphenburg City – München, you immediately get the sense this three-star property knows exactly what it’s doing. The building sits confidently on Nymphenburger Strasse, and honestly, the location alone had me impressed before I even stepped inside. There’s something refreshing about a hotel that doesn’t try to be flashy — instead, it focuses on getting the fundamentals absolutely right. The entrance feels welcoming without being overly formal, which pretty much sets the tone for everything that follows.
Location & Neighborhood
Here’s what I love about this spot in Neuhausen-Nymphenburg — you’re close enough to Munich’s center to feel connected, but far enough out to actually breathe a little. The famous Nymphenburg Palace is practically on your doorstep, which means you can wander those incredible baroque gardens without fighting tourist crowds first thing in the morning. I mean, couples consistently rate this location 8.9 out of 10, and after spending time here, I totally get why. You’ve got excellent public transport links, but you know what? Sometimes I just enjoyed walking through this quieter residential area, especially in the evenings when locals are out with their dogs and the whole neighborhood feels authentically Munich.
The Room Experience
The rooms strike that perfect balance between comfort and practicality — nothing too fancy, but everything you actually need is there and works well. What impressed me most was the attention to details that matter when you’re traveling: good lighting for reading, enough outlets near the bed, and windows that actually open (you’d be surprised how rare that’s becoming). The bathrooms are clean and modern without trying to make some grand design statement. It’s the kind of space where you can genuinely relax after a day of sightseeing, rather than feeling like you’re living in a showroom.
Breakfast & Practical Perks
The breakfast buffet here actually surprised me — and I’m usually pretty skeptical about hotel breakfast spreads. They’ve clearly put thought into accommodating different dietary needs, with solid vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options that don’t feel like afterthoughts. The variety is impressive for a three-star property, and the quality is consistently good. Plus, having private parking available is honestly a game-changer if you’re driving in Munich — trust me, you’ll appreciate not having to hunt for street parking in this city. These might seem like small things, but they’re exactly the kind of practical touches that make a stay genuinely pleasant rather than just adequate.
Why Guests Love It
What keeps people coming back to Hotel Nymphenburg City – München is that it delivers on its promises without any pretense. The 8.3 rating reflects what you experience: a well-run, comfortable hotel that understands what travelers actually want. You’re not paying for marble lobbies or celebrity chef restaurants — you’re getting a great location, reliable service, and rooms that feel like a proper home base for exploring Munich. It’s particularly popular with couples, and I can see why — there’s something nice about staying somewhere that feels more like a neighborhood gem than a tourist factory.

Guest Reviews
Perfect location, the Bus stop is right next to the hotel. There are also very nice restaurants and supermarkets in the neighborhood. It is quite close to the city center. The staff treatment was impeccable, very polite, very helpful and attentive. My room was cosy, the bed very comfortable.
What could be improved: Breakfast is delicious but it could use more variety.
Staff were very welcoming, beds were the comfiest hotel bed I've slept in for a long time, good selection for breakfast and free bottled water provided, excellent stay would definitely recommend
Super kind reception, Edgar, and good breakfast. Top position for everything
Location was very close to city center and accessible by public means of transport. The room was clean. Staff were very supportive
What could be improved: The bathtub well does not pass water freely and water accumulates inside tube. The curtain separator of tube to toilet area was not in good shape.
Variety of breakfast was limited.
This is an average hotel in a good neighborhood with several restaurants, bakeries, and bars nearby. The facilities were in good shape and fairly clean. The staff was very friendly and professional. The hotel provides free bottles of water. The breakfast was fantastic with a large variety of international food options.
What could be improved: There was a cockroach in the room. Not a big problem, but definitely an unexpected visitor...
Great location if you got for a concert to Olympiastadion Munich. Room was very nice, a bit older furniture but work great.
Breakfast was good; nice choices and lots of fruits.
city center a bit further away, but still close
What could be improved: A bit more expensive parking provided, but still better than on the streets.
location and room size
What could be improved: wifi was very poor
Breakfast was very good and the free water bottles for the room was a big plus for me
What could be improved: I have nothing to say here
Great location, 2 subway stations very near. We also walked up to Nymphenburg Palace, no need for transportation. Great garden, if weather is nice, you can enjoy breakfast outdoors. Personnel very friendly and helpful, could not have been nicer to us.
What could be improved: Could definitely benefit from some renovations, especially on the common spaces like the reception, hallway, elevator, stairs. Would have appreciated if cleaning in the room would also mean vacuuming. In my 4 night stay, there was no vacuum at all. Apart from the vacuum, cleaning was done properly.
Near metro station, good breakfast
What could be improved: Rooms maybe will need aircondition
