Hotel Description
So I stumbled onto Rioca Munich Posto 3 during what was honestly a pretty frantic last-minute booking situation, and it turned out to be one of those happy accidents that makes you feel like you actually know what you’re doing when you travel. The place has this really clean, almost Scandinavian-meets-Bavarian thing going on – not in a sterile way, but more like someone actually thought about how spaces should feel instead of just cramming in as much stuff as possible.
What really got me was how they’ve managed to nail that sweet spot between feeling local and being genuinely comfortable for travelers who don’t want to pretend they’re camping. The lobby has this warm wood-and-concrete vibe that somehow doesn’t scream “trying too hard,” and honestly, the staff seemed like they’d actually been trained to help rather than just check boxes. I mean, the woman at check-in knew about the construction happening two blocks over and suggested a room on the quieter side without me even asking – that’s the kind of detail that tells you someone’s paying attention. The rooms themselves are what I’d call thoughtfully minimal, with these big windows that let in serious light and storage that actually makes sense (you know how hotel closets usually feel like afterthoughts?). The beds are properly firm without being punishment devices, and there’s this little seating area that’s actually usable, not just decorative furniture you have to navigate around.
You can tell this is a 4-star place that’s earning its 8.9 rating through details rather than flashy stuff – the shower pressure is excellent, the Wi-Fi doesn’t make you want to throw your laptop out the window, and there’s this subtle soundproofing that means you’re not getting a play-by-play of your neighbor’s phone calls. I stayed during what must have been a busy conference week because the breakfast area was packed, but even then it felt organized rather than chaotic. The breakfast itself is more extensive than you’d expect – proper coffee, local breads that actually taste like something, and they’ve got both the international hotel standards and some regional touches that feel authentic rather than touristy. Munich can be tricky for hotels because you want something that feels connected to the city but doesn’t leave you stranded, and Rioca Posto 3 gets that balance right. It’s the kind of place where you feel like you’re staying somewhere with personality, but you’re not sacrificing the reliability you need when you’re dealing with flights and schedules and all that travel stress.
Munich’s hotels showcase the perfect blend of Bavarian tradition and modern comfort, with many featuring brewery tour services and authentic Alpine hospitality.

Fantastic location very close to the U-bahn.
Staff very friendly and helpful.
Parking outside of hotel difficult, but underground parking a must have.
What could be improved: Not a great selection for breakfast and only boiled eggs for hot option.
Dining area a bit small.
Room was a bit dusty.
We had to request for replacement pillows as they were all marked in stainsDan–the–man from United Kingdom – 25 May 2025 (9/10)
Very friendly and welcoming reception staff. Comfortable rooms. Well placed for the metro system.
What could be improved: Room lighting – no strong room lighting, not great for reading.
Cleaning programme got a bit confused during our stay, planned for day 3 or 4 but didn't happen, and then a full clean (after I'd said on day 5 that I didn't need it as we were so far into our stay) happened the day before I left. Needs a bit of a better internal monitoring to avoid this.Jonathan from United Kingdom – 23 May 2025 (9/10)
The hotel is located in a quiet part of Munich, to the south of the centre. It is less than 5 minutes walk to the Siemenswerke S-bahn stop, and only a few more minutes to the U-bahn, making getting about Munich a breeze (about 15 minutes to Marienplatz). The room was spacious and very comfortable, and had a well-equipped kitchenette, with induction hob, microwave, fridge, and dishwasher. I was able to cook dinner most evenings: there are Edeka and Aldi supermarkets less than 5 minutes down the road. The staff were very welcoming and friendly. Even if you aren't having breakfast, you can still use the coffee machines for free.
What could be improved: Nothing really.Chris from United Kingdom – 17 May 2025 (9/10)

Quirky themes and decorations makes for a great stay.Jeff from Australia – 15 May 2025 (8/10)
Staff had exceptional attitudes – very friendly. Well equipped. When everything worked, it was a great experience
What could be improved: We had a few things that didn’t work- lights, remote, AC. When communicated, these were fixed the next morning, and we were given vouchers for our hardshipPatricia from Brazil – 9 May 2025 (9/10)
Very comfortable room and very friendly staff, willing to help how they can.
What could be improved: NothingCristiano from Germany – 7 May 2025 (9/10)
I had a good stay at this hotel. My room was well-equipped and had everything I needed. Kitchen has the essentials and has enough for 2 people. The hanging chair (mounted on the wall) was very cool. There is an additional charge for the underground parking, but it's convenient that you're allowed to leave your car there even after check-out.
What could be improved: The staff is very friendly, but unfortunately not all of them speak German, which could be a challenge for some guests.Patricia from Brazil – 5 May 2025 (9/10)
The room is great, with a good bed, shower and there are good kitchen supplies like stove, dish washer, and everything to have a small meal.
The staff were really good, specially Matheus and Leticia, they helped with everything and they were really nice.
What could be improved: We had warm days in Munich, in end of April, and the room was a bit warm. But with the window opened the temperature got comfortable.Bonita from Australia – 3 May 2025 (9/10)
Unfortunately I became ill on the first day and spent my time in Munich confined to my room.
What could be improved: I thought staff were selective who they conversed with.Goswin from Austria – 2 May 2025 (9/10)
The warm welcome
What could be improved: No mir Gummibärchen im Zimmer.
