Overview
You know what struck me first about the Novotel München City Arnulfpark? It’s got this unexpectedly modern vibe that feels genuinely Munich without trying too hard. I mean, when you’re walking up from the Arnulfpark area – which, honestly, most tourists never even discover – you realize you’ve found something that locals actually use too, not just another tourist trap.
The thing about this particular Novotel is that it sits in this sweet spot where you’re close enough to everything that matters but far enough from the Marienplatz chaos to actually get some sleep. The rooms have that clean Scandinavian-meets-Bavarian aesthetic that somehow works, and the beds are legitimately comfortable (I’m picky about this stuff). What I really appreciated was how quiet it gets at night – you’d think being in the city you’d hear constant traffic, but the way it’s positioned, you don’t get the late-night party crowds stumbling around like you would closer to the old town. The staff actually seems to know the neighborhood too, which is rarer than you’d think. They pointed me toward this little bakery about three blocks away that I never would’ve found otherwise, and their coffee recommendations were spot-on.
Here’s the practical stuff that matters: parking isn’t the nightmare it could be, though you’ll pay for it (welcome to Munich, right?). The whole Arnulfpark district is sort of having this quiet renaissance – there’s new restaurants popping up, some decent bars that aren’t overrun with tour groups, and you can walk to the main train station in about fifteen minutes if you don’t mind a little stroll. Honestly, I ended up walking most places because the tram connections are solid and you feel like you’re seeing actual Munich, not just the postcard version. The hotel’s breakfast is better than expected – they actually have decent bread and real butter, not that weird processed stuff some chains serve. Check-in was smooth, none of that “your room isn’t ready but would you like to wait in our lobby for three hours” nonsense. One small thing – the elevators can be a bit slow during busy times, but that’s hardly a deal-breaker. If you’re looking for that perfect balance of being in Munich without feeling like you’re staying in a tourist fishbowl, this place gets it right. Plus, at 8.5 out of 10, other people seem to agree it’s doing something well.

We had a fantastic stay at the Novotel! It had everything we wanted and more. The breakfast was great and the staff were very friendly. Highly recommend.
Clean, modern, tasteful. Underground garage parking.
What could be improved: You need to walk or transport to restaurants and sightseeing.
All was great
What could be improved: None
What could be improved: It was a bit of a walk to the train station but it can be done!
Good furniture, modern room, good breakfast
What could be improved: Gym is small
Hotel facilities and clean level as well breakfast was good and location was nice one
What could be improved: Nothing major
It's a very good hotel, the food is also very good, the location is beautiful, I recommend it 100%. The quality of service is more than the price.
We were very satisfied with everything in the room – clean, comfortable, and well-equipped. The location was excellent, close to everything we needed. Would definitely stay again!
What could be improved: The one big downside was that the hotel doesn’t offer free parking for guests. Charging €24 per night feels quite steep, especially considering the price of the room.
We really appreacite the cleanliness of the hotel, the friendly staff, the interior, the luggage storage when you can we can put our luggage while waiting for our bus, it was very convenient we could stroll around the town without our luggage in tow and plus the upgrade.
