Overview
First Impressions
Walking into the Munich Marriott Hotel on Berliner Straße, you immediately get that polished, international hotel vibe — but in a good way. The lobby feels spacious without being intimidating, and honestly, the staff here actually seems to know what they’re doing. It’s one of those four-star properties that doesn’t try too hard to be something it’s not, which I really appreciate after staying at places that oversell themselves. The attention to detail in the public spaces sets a welcoming tone for your entire stay.
Location & Getting Around
Here’s what I love about this spot in Munich — you’re in Schwabing-Freimann, which means you get that authentic Munich neighborhood feel without being stuck in the tourist chaos of Marienplatz. The area has this nice residential energy during the day, but you’re still close enough to everything that matters. I mean, couples consistently rate this location 8.5 out of 10, and after walking around the neighborhood myself, I totally get why. There’s something about being able to grab coffee at a local café in the morning and still make it to the city center without much hassle. The public transportation connections are excellent, making exploration effortless.
The Room Experience
The room I stayed in was exactly what you’d expect from Marriott — clean, functional, and surprisingly quiet considering you’re on a main street. The beds are actually comfortable (not just hotel-marketing comfortable), and the bathroom has decent water pressure, which honestly makes or breaks a stay for me. You know what impressed me most? The blackout curtains actually work, so if you’re dealing with jet lag or just want to sleep in, you’re covered. Modern amenities and thoughtful design choices enhance the overall comfort.
Breakfast & Practical Perks
The breakfast buffet here is solid — not mind-blowing, but definitely worth getting up for. They’ve got the usual suspects plus some local touches that show they’re paying attention to where they are. What really sets this place apart though is the parking situation — they have private parking right at the hotel, which if you’ve ever tried to park in Munich, you’ll know is basically like finding gold. It’s one of those details that seems small until you need it, then suddenly it’s the best thing ever. The convenience factor cannot be overstated for travelers with vehicles.
Why Guests Love It
Look, this isn’t the fanciest hotel in Munich, but it gets the fundamentals right in a way that actually matters when you’re traveling. The location gives you that sweet spot of being in a real Munich neighborhood while still being accessible to everything else. The service is professional without being stuffy, and honestly, after a long day of exploring the city, you just want a place that works — and this place works really well. It’s the kind of hotel you’d book again without hesitation, which says something. Reliability and consistent quality make this property a smart choice for discerning travelers.

Guest Reviews
The property was well fitted out, rooms spacious and clean with desk space to work and fast reliable wi-fi. The breakfast was a buffet with an egg station and was plentiful. The staff were very helpful. The airport bus leaves from the nearby U-Bahn station so super convenient.
What could be improved: I was there for a conference being held in the property so it was very convenient for me. For other travellers It’s a bit away from town but the nearest U-bahn station is 5 minutes walk away so easy to get there in about 15-20mins ride.
Comfortable bed. Large room for Europe. Staff very helpfulnothing
What could be improved: NothingLovely location, beautiful hotel
The hotel, which looks tired from the outside, has been nicely renovated, spacious and fresh from the inside. The hotel room was large and rather quiet, although the windows faced the motorway. The breakfast buffet had an exceptionally wide selection and was delicious. The Englisher Park is within walking distance, the city centre can be reached on foot in about an hour, and the metro stop is right next to the hotel. We were able to park our car on the street in front of the hotel, which was free. The swimming pool, sauna and gym were a bonus, although they tended to be overcrowded.
What could be improved: Only Tesla charging stations available at the garage - no EU (CCS) alternatives.
the only petty is that the windows can not be opened due to heavy traffic noise
What could be improved: easy access and modern facility
The room was spacious and comfortable, with two large beds, perfect for a family stay. It was easy to find cheap parking nearby, and private parking was also available. The hotel’s location was convenient, being close to the underground, making it simple and fast to reach the city center without using the car.
What could be improved: The air conditioning was noticeably noisy, which was a bit disturbing during the night. The breakfast was quite basic and standard, more like a typical Bavarian breakfast, and didn’t feel special or memorable for a hotel of this level.
The area around the hotel is very quiet. Transportation is convenient. From the hotel to the U-Bahn takes only 5 minutes. Check-in didn't take to long. We stayed here for one night as a birthday present for our daughter. They prepared a small cake and a birthday card for us. That was very impressed us. And the buffet breakfast is the best. 😊
What could be improved: In our room, we could hear the noise from the front door of our room quite clearly. You might feel a little annoyed while the staff is walking around cleaning.
The hotel and the services were very good.
What could be improved: The location was too far away from city center, which was my mistake I should double check the location.
Pool and other leisure facilities
What could be improved: Champions restaurant could be improved: menu was limited and insufficient staff - hence service was slow as staff were over-worked.
Everything got on very well! A minor issue at arrival was fixed in 10 minutes. The stuff was very polite and responsive to our needs and requests. The place met our expectations to the maximum.
What could be improved: Changing the sheets every two days instead of three.
