Overview
First Impressions
Walking up to The Flushing Meadows Hotel, you’ll notice it sits quietly on Fraunhoferstr — not exactly a street name that rolls off the tongue, but honestly, that’s part of its charm. This four-star property doesn’t scream for attention with flashy signage or doormen in top hats. Instead, it has this understated confidence that I really appreciated. The lobby feels more like stepping into a well-designed friend’s apartment than a typical hotel, which immediately put me at ease after a long day of travel.
Location & Neighborhood
Here’s what I love about Ludwigsvorstadt — you’re actually in Munich, not some tourist bubble. The Flushing Meadows Hotel sits in this perfect sweet spot where you can walk to the main train station in about ten minutes (trust me, I timed it with my luggage), but you’re also surrounded by local cafes and that authentic Munich vibe. There’s a reason couples rate this place so highly for romantic getaways. The neighborhood has these tree-lined streets that feel almost residential, yet you’re close enough to hear the city’s pulse. I mean, you can practically smell the pretzels from the nearby bakeries when you step outside.
The Rooms
My room was on the third floor, and I’ll be honest — it wasn’t huge, but it was thoughtfully designed. The bed was actually comfortable (you know how hotel beds can be a gamble), and there was this clever use of space that made everything feel more spacious than it probably was. What struck me most was the attention to lighting — they’d clearly thought about how people actually use hotel rooms. There were reading lights that didn’t blind you, and the bathroom had this warm glow that didn’t make you look like a zombie at 6 AM.
Getting Around
You know what’s great about staying here? The public transport connections are genuinely excellent, though I found myself walking more than I expected. The S-Bahn and U-Bahn stations are close enough that you don’t need to plan your life around getting places, but far enough that you’re not dealing with constant noise. I walked to Marienplatz one evening — took about 20 minutes through some really pleasant streets. For a four-star hotel in Munich, the location really does punch above its weight, especially considering how expensive this city can be.
Why Guests Love It
After spending several nights at The Flushing Meadows Hotel, I get why it consistently rates well with travelers. It’s not trying to be something it’s not — there’s no pretentious spa or over-the-top amenities. Instead, it focuses on doing the basics really well in a neighborhood that feels authentically Munich. The staff seemed to actually know the area (I got some great restaurant recommendations), and there’s this relaxed atmosphere that makes you want to linger in the lobby with a coffee. For couples especially, there’s something romantic about being tucked away on a quiet street while still being connected to everything the city offers.

Guest Reviews
Fun neighborhood, hotel is modern but with character. (It's more aof bar with some rooms, rather than a traditional hotel. We found a live-sized rock band of black skeletons near the ceiling in our room.)
What could be improved: Breakfast was coffee, juice and croissants. Some yoghurt and musli would be nice!
Great location, very friendly helpful staff, comfortable stylish room, great shower, bar and free coffee/ mini breakfast in the mornings
What could be improved: Tv wasn’t working in the room, could have done with a mini fridge and kettle in room
Great roof top bar with excellent staff
Amazing location
Clean and comfortable rooms
Friendly staff, comfortable stay.
What could be improved: Entrance/location is not very obvious, you have to really look for the place.
Amazing boutique hotel in a very good location just seconds from public transport and minutes walking from main attractions. The hotel is also a vibrant rooftop bar and it was perfect match for us.
What could be improved: You can't prebook the outside tables so if you want to catch the sunset you will need to get there early. We had an inconvenient incident around this but the manager and staff sorted it up and we were pleased.
The hotel was quite boutiqey and very comfortable, as well as a good location near tram lines and tube stations. The staff were always super helpful
Location was great. Cocktail bar was very nice for after concert cocktails
What could be improved: All good
Great location, spacious room, lovely rooftop bar with very friendly and helpful barman.
What could be improved: Breakfast lacked generosity and even though our room was very clean and comfortable when we arrived, our coffee cups and bins weren't cleaned during our stay. Early morning staff not friendly or helpful at all.
Cool space, relatively quiet, stylish, intimate
What could be improved: Noise from bar upstairs
