You know what? MIANO Hotel & Bar completely caught me off guard. I mean, when you see “3-star” you’re not exactly expecting to be wowed, but this place has that rare combination of getting the basics absolutely right while throwing in some genuinely thoughtful touches that most boutique places charge twice as much for.

The first thing that hits you walking in is how they’ve managed to make a smaller space feel intentionally cozy rather than cramped – there’s this warm lighting situation happening that somehow makes even the lobby feel like you’re settling into a friend’s well-designed apartment. The bar area (which is actually more central to the whole vibe than I initially realized) has this authentic neighborhood feel where you’ll see both hotel guests and locals grabbing drinks, which honestly is always a good sign. I spent a couple evenings there and the bartender – think his name was Marco? – actually remembers your drink after one night, which is such a small thing but makes all the difference. The cocktails aren’t trying to be Instagram famous or anything, just solid, well-made drinks with decent prices for what you’re getting.

Room-wise, they’ve clearly put thought into the details that actually matter when you’re traveling. The bed situation is spot-on – not too soft, not too firm, and the pillows aren’t those weird synthetic things that make you wake up with a stiff neck. Storage space is surprisingly generous for this type of place, and there are enough outlets positioned where you actually need them (revolutionary concept, I know). The bathrooms are compact but efficiently designed, with water pressure that doesn’t make you question your life choices. One thing though – if you’re a super light sleeper, maybe request a room away from the street side. It’s not terrible, but there’s definitely some city noise, especially on weekend nights when the neighborhood gets a bit livelier.

What really sells me on MIANO is that it feels like the kind of place where the staff actually works there by choice rather than just collecting a paycheck. Check-in was smooth and friendly without being overly chatty, and when I had a question about getting to the airport early in the morning, the front desk person gave me three different options with honest pros and cons for each. That 8.5 rating makes total sense – it’s not trying to be the fanciest place in town, but it’s nailing everything it sets out to do. For the price point, you’re getting way more personality and attention to detail than those generic business hotels, plus you’re actually staying somewhere that feels connected to the neighborhood rather than dropped in from corporate headquarters. If you’re looking for a place that feels both comfortable and authentic without breaking the bank, MIANO definitely delivers on that promise.

  Everything is new! Close to Pasing S-Bahn station, from where you can reach all parts of Munich.
  
  What could be improved: Just the shampoo bottle in shower was totally empty, that I have recognized during I was under shower! I could not rich reception after 5 calls! I should “send email” I did!
  After 5 minutes waiting, I went to reception half naked covered with towel. He gave me a 100% full bottle!

  The location was really top. The installations were excellent. The breakfast at the bar downstairs was great. I got a discount for a lunch at the Italian restaurant located practically at the hotel. They also have a very nice lobby/bar at the reception. I came on Sunday and I have always found a free parking on the street. On Monday it was a bit more challanging, but you can always park at the Edeka/Lidl park house. It is not free, but when you buy at Edeka or Lidl you get some free parking time.
  
  What could be improved: The staff was nice but sometimes some of the staff members seemed to be a bit chaotic. I was given a room which was not completely clean. I had to report it to the reception. Sometimes they were not able to answer some questions, either. For example I asked for a gym with a day ticket (Tageskarte) and they were not able to give me any recommendation. I found myself one for 10 Euros about 7-8 minutes by car from the hotel. But all in all it was a great place to stay.

  Breakfast situation. And said somebody should have told us when we checked in. Well we then found out that there is no breakfast in the hotel but you have to check three options… very complicated . Price value ok but no breakfast included

  The employees were kind and smooth. The hotel is well located at Munich Pasing and looks newly built. The room I stayed in was roomy.

  Very modern, clean, perfect location-just a short ride to Munich, good restaurants below the hotel.
  
  What could be improved: No privacy in hotel rooms. The only enclosed space in the room was the toilet. Shower was in the middle of the room and so was the sink. Even if the pictures for our specific type of room were showing a closed off full bathroom.
