Living Hotel Prinzessin Elisabeth Overview

First Impressions

Walking into Living Hotel Prinzessin Elisabeth, you immediately get that feeling of “okay, this is exactly what I was hoping for.” It’s one of those four-star places that doesn’t try too hard — the lobby has this understated elegance that feels welcoming rather than intimidating. The staff actually remembers your name after the first day, which honestly surprised me given how busy this place gets. You can tell right away that this isn’t just another cookie-cutter hotel chain.

Perfect Munich Base

The location in Munich is absolutely spot-on, especially if you want to experience the city like locals do rather than just hitting the tourist traps. Ludwigsvorstadt puts you close enough to the Altstadt that you can walk there in about fifteen minutes, but you’re also surrounded by authentic Bavarian life. There’s this great little bakery just around the corner that I stumbled upon during my morning walks — the kind of place you’d never find if you stayed in the more touristy areas. The parking situation is actually manageable here too, which anyone who’s driven in Munich will tell you is no small feat.

The Room Experience

My room had this interesting blend of modern functionality and traditional German hospitality that really worked. The space felt larger than typical European hotel rooms — you know how cramped those can get — and everything was designed with actual comfort in mind. The bed was one of those where you sink in just enough without feeling like you’re drowning in pillows. What I really appreciated was the attention to lighting; there were enough different options that I could actually read comfortably in the evening, which is rarer than it should be in hotels.

Morning Fuel

The breakfast buffet here is honestly one of the better ones I’ve encountered in Germany, and that’s saying something because Germans take their breakfast seriously. They’ve got the usual suspects — fresh breads, local cheeses, cold cuts — but also some unexpected touches that show they’re thinking about international guests without losing their local character. The coffee is proper strong, the way it should be, and there’s always fresh fruit that doesn’t look like it’s been sitting under heat lamps for hours. I mean, it’s not revolutionary, but it sets you up right for exploring the city.

Why Guests Love It

What really sets this place apart is how many people come back — there’s definitely something to be said for a hotel that earns that kind of loyalty. The combination of genuine hospitality, smart location choice, and consistent quality creates this comfortable reliability that frequent travelers really value. You’re not paying for unnecessary frills, but you’re getting everything that actually matters for a great stay in Munich. It’s the kind of place where you can focus on enjoying the city rather than dealing with hotel hassles, which is exactly what you want when you’re exploring somewhere as rich as Munich.

Exploring Munich offers visitors an unforgettable journey through Bavaria’s heart, from its magnificent beer halls to its royal palaces and stunning Alpine scenery.

Reviews of Living Hotel Prinzessin Elisabeth

  • Bryan from Canada – 22 May 2025 (9/10)

Excellent REWE grocery store right next door. We could make quick small meals in the kichenette in our room. Location very near the river makes for a lovely place to walk. The whole city is fantastic for walking.

What could be improved: Access to the U-Bahn was a bit of a walk – about 12 minutes to the Goetheplatz station.

  • Gregory from Netherlands – 6 May 2025 (9/10)

Good layout for small families. We rented four rooms for four nights. It worked well.

  • Maja from Serbia – 3 May 2025 (7/10)

Room is very good, location as well.

What could be improved: It could have be more clean, and the mattress was too soft. And the kitchen was dirty, we did not use it.

  • Aidan from United Kingdom – 29 April 2025 (9/10)

It is a split level apartment and was comfortable and well equipped even if the decor was a little dated. Reception staff were very friendly and helpful. There is an excellent supermarket next door. It takes about 25 minutes to walk to Marienplatz but there are good bus links with the city centre and train station and stops within 5 minutes of the hotel. There's a sauna but we forgot to bring swimming costumes. The kitchen area was quite compact but we got free water and beer. SC

  • Greg from Australia – 16 December 2024 (9/10)

Location was excellent and the staff were very friendly. The welcome basket was an unexpected surprise.

What could be improved: The fact that for our two week stay the sheets and towels were only changed once. The daily noise from the back of the Rewe supermarket was very annoying.
