KING’s Hotel First Overview
First Impressions
Walking into KING’s Hotel First on Dachauer Strasse, you immediately get that feeling of “okay, this place knows what it’s doing.” It’s one of those four-star hotels that doesn’t try too hard to impress you with flashy lobbies, but instead focuses on getting the fundamentals absolutely right. The staff greets you like they actually want you there — which, honestly, isn’t always a given in Munich. From the moment you arrive, the attention to detail becomes apparent in every interaction.
Prime Maxvorstadt Location
Here’s the thing about staying in Maxvorstadt — you’re basically in the sweet spot of Munich without the tourist chaos of Marienplatz. You can walk to the old town in about fifteen minutes, but you’re also surrounded by authentic local cafes and that genuine Munich vibe. The location score of 9.0 makes total sense when you realize you’re steps away from the university district and some of the city’s best museums. Couples especially seem to love this area because it’s got that perfect mix of culture and romance without feeling overly touristy. The neighborhood offers easy access to public transportation and countless dining options.
The Room Experience
You know what really surprised me? The beds here are genuinely exceptional. I’m talking about that rare hotel experience where you actually sleep better than you do at home. The room design is clean and modern without being sterile — they’ve managed to create spaces that feel both sophisticated and comfortable. The windows are well-insulated too, which matters when you’re on a busy Munich street. Each room is thoughtfully appointed with quality furnishings and modern amenities.
Breakfast Worth Waking Up For
The breakfast setup here actually impressed me more than I expected. They’ve got this buffet that covers all the bases — vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free options alongside the traditional German breakfast items. It’s not just checking boxes either; the quality is genuinely good. I watched them preparing fresh items throughout the morning, which tells you they care about the details. The coffee is proper strong German coffee, not that watered-down hotel stuff you sometimes get. The dining area is bright and welcoming, perfect for starting your day.
Why Guests Love It
What really sets this place apart is how they handle the practical stuff without making a big deal about it. Parking is available right at the hotel — and if you’ve ever tried to park in central Munich, you’ll know that’s worth its weight in gold. The whole operation just runs smoothly, from check-in to checkout. It’s the kind of place where everything works the way it should, which sounds simple but is surprisingly rare. The 8.5 rating reflects exactly what you get — a solid, well-run hotel that delivers on its promises without any unpleasant surprises. Staff members are knowledgeable and genuinely helpful throughout your stay.
To book hotel in Munich during the famous Oktoberfest season, visitors should make reservations well in advance as the city attracts beer enthusiasts and cultural travelers from around the world.

Friendly staff, good location, cleanliness, environmentally concious atmosphere
What could be improved: Wish there was a physical telephone. We didn't get coffee pods the second day of stay, even when requested.Alice from Canada – 21 May 2025 (9/10)
The highlight is definitely its location, just a short walk from the historic center, which made it super convenient to explore the city on foot. The shower was amazing, with great water pressure and temperature control, and even the hairdryer was surprisingly good (a rare find in hotels!). A very comfortable and practical stay overall.
