Hotel Description

You know what? Hotel Stadt Pasing really surprised me. I mean, when you first pull up, it’s not going to blow you away with some grand entrance or anything – it’s tucked into Pasing in a way that feels refreshingly unpretentious. But honestly, that’s part of what I ended up loving about it.

The thing about staying here is you’re getting that authentic Munich neighborhood vibe without the tourist circus. Pasing itself is one of those areas where actual locals live and work – you’ll see people heading to the S-Bahn station in the morning with their coffee, not dragging roller bags behind them. The hotel sits right in the middle of this daily rhythm, which I found way more interesting than being stuck in the Altstadt with everyone else taking the same photos. Walking around, you’ll stumble across these little bakeries and corner pubs that have probably been there for decades. There’s this butcher shop just a few blocks away where the owner still knows everyone’s order by heart – that kind of place.

The rooms are solid without trying too hard. Clean, comfortable beds (actually comfortable, not just hotel-speak comfortable), and the windows open properly, which you don’t always get these days. I stayed during late spring and could hear the neighborhood coming to life in the mornings – kids walking to school, the occasional tram rumbling by. It’s real city sounds, not traffic chaos. The staff was genuinely helpful too, the kind where they’ll actually think about your question instead of just reciting what’s in the brochure. When I asked about getting to a concert venue across town, the desk clerk pulled out his phone and walked me through the best S-Bahn connections like we were planning it together. Little things like that stick with you. Sure, it’s a 3-star place, so don’t expect marble everything or turndown service with chocolates, but what they do, they do well. The bathrooms are updated, the WiFi actually works throughout the building, and breakfast had proper German bread alongside the usual hotel fare. What really sold me was how quiet it got at night – Pasing doesn’t party like Schwabing, so you can actually sleep. Plus, you’re still only 20 minutes from Marienplatz by train when you want to do the tourist thing. It’s that sweet spot where you feel like you’re staying somewhere with character instead of just another anonymous hotel room.

Reviews

  • Barry from United Kingdom – 14 April 2025 (8/10)

Very good breakfast and also friendly staff. car Parking good and walking distance to station to get into town. A nice restauarant a few minutes away

What could be improved: No lift – which would have been helpful for getting bags to second floor. Of course didn't like the rate which was high due to the Bauma Exhibition – one hour away =by train! But its normal

  • R from United Kingdom – 9 February 2025 (9/10)

    Lovely hotel in Pasing.
The room was very clean, quiet and spacious. Modern bathroom, with all the toiletries you need.
Friendly staff and a nice breakfast with great selection of food and drinks.

  • Animesh from United Kingdom – 25 January 2024 (9/10)

Friendly staff with well maintained and spacious rooms.

What could be improved: Breakfast could have more options.

  • Joydeb from United Kingdom – 17 January 2024 (7/10)

Staff extremely helpful. Overall hotel was clean and tidy.

What could be improved: Some people may not like the fact that the balcony of the hotel overlooks a graveyard. It should ideally be mentioned whilest booking. While it didnt matter to me, but I suspect it will to a lot of people.

  • Himanshu from Germany – 1 November 2023 (8/10)

    Helpful staff, easy checkin, parking

  • Peter from Spain – 27 October 2023 (8/10)

The hotel is really nice and clean and the rooms very quiet. My room backed onto a forested graveyard which might spook some people out but for me I thought it was pretty and very calming so enjoyed that – something different!

The cleaning staff were 10/10 and did a great job, even cleaning during the weekends.

Warm rooms, comfy beds and shower was strong.

What could be improved: The location was a challenge. Really, really, really far from anywhere. It's a long slog of a walk to Munich-Pasing train station and there is absolutely nothing near the hotel. It feels almost countryside. It's about 30mins in a taxi to the centre of Munich.

It's probably more suitable for all-day-out events when you would leave in the morning and come back late at night – work days, or Oktoberfest, or going to Munich's countryside or something similar where you are out 100% of the day.

Not for exploring the city because it takes you about an hour to get into the historic centre so you can´t exactly nip back when you´re out.

Also, some reception staff didn't speak a word of English which is a little odd, I get it's in Germany but when my German is better than their English there is something wrong…

  • Appukuddy from Germany – 25 October 2023 (8/10)

    easy Access to opnv

What could be improved: keine Aufzug

  • Debra from Canada – 8 October 2023 (8/10)

Quiet motel-like stay in Pasing close to park and river. Clean, basic room with self-check in. Breakfast costs extra but we didn’t try it so I cannot comment.

What could be improved: On 2nd floor it was quite warm in early October with no air conditioning. In summer it might be uncomfortable. Opening the large windows helped cool the room.

  • Lynne from Canada – 11 July 2023 (8/10)

    Large room with nice balcony
    Quiet neighborhood
    Close to bus stop

What could be improved: No lift

  • Mikołaj from Poland – 25 January 2023 (9/10)

Very clean, no problems with staff, reasonable price, free parking

What could be improved: Bit far from the S Bahn or tram
