Overview
First Impressions
The Amalienburg – Boutique & Boarding Hotel sits quietly on a tree-lined street in Pasing, and honestly, that’s exactly what makes it special. This three-star property doesn’t try to be flashy — instead, it nails that sweet spot between boutique charm and practical comfort. The moment you walk in, you get this sense that someone actually thought about what travelers need, not just what looks good in photos.
The Pasing Advantage
Here’s what I love about staying in this part of Munich — you’re close enough to everything that matters, but far enough out to avoid the tourist chaos. Pasing has this authentic neighborhood feel that central Munich lost years ago. You’ve got the S-Bahn right there, which gets you to Marienplatz in about 15 minutes, but you can also walk to actual local spots where people live and work. The area around Amalienburgstraße feels residential in the best way — quiet at night, but with enough cafés and shops that you don’t feel isolated.
The Room Experience
The rooms here strike that perfect balance between boutique style and actual functionality. Each room feels thoughtfully designed rather than just decorated — you know what I mean? The beds are genuinely comfortable (not just hotel-marketing comfortable), and there’s enough space to actually unpack without playing Tetris with your luggage. What really impressed me was the attention to lighting — they’ve got multiple options so you’re not stuck with harsh overhead lights or trying to read by a dim bedside lamp.
Why Couples Keep Coming Back
There’s something about this place that just works for romantic getaways, and I think it’s the combination of intimacy and independence it offers. The hotel feels personal without being intrusive — you can have quiet conversations in the common areas without feeling like you’re on display. Plus, Pasing gives you options for both cozy neighborhood dinners and easy access to Munich’s more famous date spots. The staff seems to understand this balance too; they’re helpful when you need them but don’t hover.
Why Guests Love It
What keeps people talking about Amalienburg is how it delivers on the things that actually matter during your stay. The location gets consistently high marks because it’s genuinely useful — not just “close to attractions” but close to the kind of infrastructure that makes traveling easier. You’re near good public transport, decent restaurant options, and actual Munich life. The boutique aspect isn’t just marketing speak either; there’s real personality here without the pretension that sometimes comes with smaller hotels. It’s the kind of place where you end up staying longer than planned, not because there’s so much to do at the hotel itself, but because it makes such a solid base for exploring Munich properly.

Location is good if you want to be near the park.
The place is awesome and the location is great. The staff was kind, and they prepared my invoices beforehand. The rooms have a great kitchen, and the parking underground was excellent.
We stayed here for Oktoberfest with friends. Having a garden to yourself and drinking beer with friends there was nice. The hotel was quite (in a nice neighborhood) and room was clean. The staff was very helpful.
I did not have any problem finding a parking space at the hotel. I was lucky, I parked at the last available spot. I counted 7 or 8 parking spaces.
The room was very clean and comfortable. I was able to park my vehicle at no extra cost and there was a bus/train close for public transportation. I will definitely stay here again.
Staff were first class and very friendly and helpful.
