Overview
First Impressions
Walking up to Hotel Rotkreuzplatz, you immediately notice how it sits right on this charming little square that feels more like a neighborhood secret than a tourist trap. The building has that solid Bavarian character — not flashy, but there’s something reassuring about its straightforward three-star approach. I mean, you’re not getting marble lobbies here, but honestly, that’s part of what makes it work so well for Munich.
Location & Neighborhood
Here’s the thing about Rotkreuzplatz — it’s one of those spots that locals actually use, which tells you everything. You’ve got the U-Bahn station literally steps away (and I mean literally), so getting into the city center takes maybe ten minutes. But what I really love is how you’re positioned between Neuhausen and Nymphenburg, which gives you this perfect balance. Walk one direction and you hit authentic Munich neighborhoods with proper bakeries and corner pubs. Walk the other way and you’re heading toward Nymphenburg Palace — honestly, couples seem to figure this out quickly, which explains why they rate the location so highly.
The Rooms
The accommodations are what you’d expect from a well-run three-star place, but with some thoughtful touches that show someone actually cares. Rooms are clean and functional — nothing revolutionary, but the beds are comfortable and the bathrooms work properly, which sounds basic until you’ve stayed in places where they don’t. What struck me was how quiet it stays despite being right on the square. The windows do their job, and you know what, after a day of walking around Munich, that matters more than fancy amenities.
Getting Around
This is where Hotel Rotkreuzplatz really shines, and recent guests seem to get it — that 9.2 location rating isn’t an accident. The U-Bahn connection means you can be at Marienplatz before you’ve finished your morning coffee, but you can also walk to some genuinely interesting parts of Munich that most tourists miss entirely. There’s something liberating about staying somewhere that feels connected to the real city rather than trapped in the tourist bubble. Plus, if you’re planning any trips out to Nymphenburg Palace or the BMW Museum, you’re already halfway there.
Why Guests Love It
Look, this isn’t the kind of place that’s going to wow you with over-the-top service or designer everything — but that’s actually the point. It’s reliable, well-positioned, and run by people who understand what travelers actually need. You get excellent transport links, a neighborhood that feels authentic, and rooms that let you rest properly between Munich adventures. For couples especially, there’s something appealing about having this quiet square as your home base while still being connected to everything the city offers. Sometimes the best hotels are the ones that just get out of your way and let you enjoy where you are.
Munich hotels provide guests with luxurious accommodations in Bavaria’s capital, known for its impressive architecture and world-famous beer culture.

Guest Reviews
I didn't have breakfast there, but directly next door is a decent bakery with plenty of seating.
the staff are helpful, and the location is just right beside the train station very convenient. i got a room upgrade.
What could be improved: none
It was a nice, clean hotel in a perfect location directly on Rotkreuzplatz, very easy to find when arriving by subway. I could view the Christmas Market directly from my window, which was nice. There are plenty of places to shop and also many restaurants nearby.
Friendly staff.
Well located, cafe, public transport, shops walking distance from the hotel.
Location was great
Location. Cleanliness. Staff.
What could be improved: No amenities. Not even a cattle or cup. No cupboard, just a rack.
The staff were really friendly and polite and accommodating of any special requests. I will recommend it to everyone and will be happy to stay there again if I return to lovely Munich.
What could be improved: The room didn’t have air conditioning and it was particularly hot in Munich.
Excellent location, friendly and helpful staff, comfortable room.
What could be improved: Ventilation could be better and it would be helpful to have basics like a tea kettle and an iron in the room. The room can get a bit warm in summer months and a standing fan would be a big plus.
Staff was very nice.
