Overview

You know what surprised me about Homaris Apartments Isartor? The name actually tells you everything you need to know if you’re familiar with Munich. The Isartor is one of those medieval city gates that tourists always photograph, and honestly, being this close to it means you’re right where all the action happens — but also where you’ll hear some street noise until maybe 10 PM on weekends.

The apartments themselves are pretty solid for a 3-star setup. I mean, they’re not going to blow you away with luxury, but there’s something refreshingly honest about the place. The rooms feel more like actual apartments than hotel rooms trying to pretend they’re apartments, if that makes sense. You’ve got proper kitchenettes that you could actually cook in (not just reheat coffee), and the layouts don’t feel cramped like some of these conversion places do. The building has that slightly worn-in feel that suggests it’s been hosting travelers for a while — not shabby, just lived-in. Check-in was straightforward, though I’d definitely call ahead if you’re arriving late since it’s not one of those big hotel operations with 24-hour front desks.

What really works here is the location, and I don’t just mean “convenient to everything” — I mean you’re literally a two-minute walk from the Viktualienmarkt food market, where locals actually shop and eat lunch. The S-Bahn connections are right there too, so getting to the airport or day trips to places like Salzburg is dead simple. But here’s the thing about staying near Isartor — you’re close enough to the Marienplatz chaos that you can walk to all the tourist stuff, but far enough that you’re not dealing with the constant crowds outside your window. The neighborhood has actual grocery stores and normal restaurants mixed in with the tourist places, which honestly makes all the difference when you’re staying somewhere for more than a couple nights. Parking can be tricky if you’re driving — the streets around there are pretty narrow and you’ll probably end up in one of the paid lots, but that’s just Munich for you.

Hotels in Munich offer visitors the opportunity to stay in the heart of this Alpine metropolis, with easy access to castles, museums, and traditional German experiences.

Location is good. Near the metro station and close to old city

What could be improved: The apartment with bunk beds is strange. I ended up bumping my head multiple times.
There was no iron, shower had only a little amount of soap which finished up quite soon.
Price wise quite high, but still less than hotels

Top Lage. Einfacher Check In und Check Out.

What could be improved: Reinigungspersonal öffnete um 10.05 am Morgen vorsichtig die Tür, obwohl Checkout bis 11.00 ist.

Location is quiet but close to the centre at the same time. Everything in the apt is new. It is a small studio but clean and functional. Staff very nice and responsive!

What could be improved: We missed A/C to sleep but since it was not hot, just the open window was enough, can’t imagine how summer would be though. Wi-fi is bad.
