Hotel Description
You know what struck me first about this Holiday Inn Express? It’s actually tucked away in Munich’s east side in a way that feels refreshingly removed from all the tourist chaos around Marienplatz, but you’re not exactly stranded out there either. I mean, it’s not going to win any design awards – it’s got that clean, straightforward Holiday Inn vibe you probably already know – but honestly, that worked perfectly for what I needed.
The thing about staying on the east side is you get a real sense of how Munich actually functions as a city. There’s this great bakery literally around the corner where locals grab their morning pretzels (and trust me, they’re about three times the size of what you’ll pay tourist prices for downtown), plus you’re close enough to the Isar river that morning jogs actually become tempting. The U-Bahn connection is solid too – I think it took me maybe 20 minutes door-to-door to get to the Viktualienmarkt, which is pretty reasonable. Check-in was smooth, no weird surprises with city taxes or anything like that, and the front desk staff actually seemed to know the neighborhood well enough to give decent restaurant recommendations.
What really sold me on this place, though, was how quiet it gets at night. You’d think being in a city this size you’d hear traffic constantly, but the rooms facing the back courtyard are genuinely peaceful – I slept better than I expected. The breakfast spread is your standard Holiday Inn Express setup (nothing fancy, but the coffee’s decent and there’s enough variety to fuel a day of walking around), and honestly, at a 7.9 rating for a 3-star property, you’re getting pretty solid value. The rooms are clean, the shower pressure is actually good, and the air conditioning works properly – which, let me tell you, matters more than you think during Munich’s surprisingly warm summer months. It’s not the kind of place you’ll Instagram every corner of, but when you’re trying to balance budget with comfort and location, this spot hits that sweet spot where you don’t feel like you’re roughing it, but you’re also not blowing your whole travel budget on a bed.

Very good hotel, stuff is always very responsive. Breakfast is also good. Rooms are clean and bright.
What could be improved: A bit far from city centerPanayiota from Cyprus – 14 May 2025 (8/10)
The breakfast was really good and also the food that they serve at the bar was also really good. The staff were polite and helpful and public transport right outside the hotels door.
What could be improved: Pillows really uncomfortable and they never came to clean my room even though i put the clean my room sign outside my door.Mojca from Slovenia – 1 May 2025 (8/10)
Location (in & out), good breakfast, garage, comfy beds, the room was clean.
What could be improved: I would prefere more shelves or hangers in the room.
Also check if the young receptions had only a bad day or… beause it was not a pleasent encounter after a 12 hour drive. It’s not the words it’s how you say it.Dejan from Serbia – 27 April 2025 (9/10)

It was good.
Toni from Finland – 1 April 2025 (8/10)
Rooms were clean but a bit small. Also sofa bed was hard but okay to sleep on. Breakfast was really good and plenty of choices. Location is just 5min from the nearest S-bahn station. Quiet area and no noices around the hotel. A good hotel to stay if willing to be a bit outside of the city centre.
Connie from Germany – 17 March 2025 (9/10)
The location of the hotel is a little far from the city but it was very accessible to public transport. There is a bus stop just outside of the hotel that will bring you to Bahnhof or the train Station. It is also walkable about 5-10min walk from train station to the hotel. The room assigned to us was newly renovated and it was comfortable, sound proof i guess. The breakfast selection was also good. The staff were very friendly and helpful. There was a complimentary coffee. The hotel was also near grocery so it was really convenient.
What could be improved: Nothing really disturbing. There was no complementary water, or toiletries (shower cap, sanitary kit). There was no slippers provided or bathrobes. Other hotels offer these things or is already prepared in the room. Aside from that nothing really big.Lizi from Georgia – 16 February 2025 (9/10)
The staff were very friendly, they helped us a lot. Delicious and very filling breakfast, with lots of options. They were constantly refilling everything that ran out.
Grzin from Croatia – 2 February 2025 (8/10)
What could be improved: Receptionist and big parking garage which is empty but still need to pay 20 eur per day
Hossam from Egypt – 31 January 2025 (8/10)
Breakfast
What could be improved: Small room, without fridge
