Hotel Description
You know what? I almost walked right past Gartenstudio the first time I was looking for it. It’s one of those places that doesn’t shout for attention from the street, but honestly, that’s part of its charm. The name kind of gives it away – this feels more like staying in someone’s thoughtfully designed garden studio than a typical hotel, and I mean that in the best possible way.
The whole vibe is refreshingly low-key for a place that clearly puts effort into the details. When I checked in, the person at the front desk actually seemed to know the neighborhood – like, really know it, not just the tourist spots. They mentioned this little bakery around the corner that I never would’ve found otherwise, and it ended up being where I grabbed coffee every morning. The rooms themselves are clean and comfortable without trying too hard to impress. Nothing flashy, but everything works properly, which honestly matters more than fancy fixtures that break. The beds are actually decent – I’m pretty picky about that stuff – and the windows open wide enough to get proper air circulation. Small thing, but you notice it when you’re trying to sleep somewhere new.
What struck me most was how the place feels lived-in rather than sterile. The common areas have this relaxed energy where you might end up chatting with other travelers without it feeling forced. I overheard someone mention they’d been coming back here for years, which tells you something. The staff seems to stick around too – always a good sign. They’re helpful without hovering, and they know practical things like which nearby restaurants actually deliver and where you can find a decent grocery store that stays open late. Parking isn’t a nightmare either, which anyone who’s driven in this area will appreciate. Look, it’s a solid 3-star place that doesn’t pretend to be something it’s not, but it does what it does really well. The 8.0 rating makes perfect sense to me – it’s the kind of spot where you feel comfortable from day one, and you’re not dealing with weird quirks or disappointments that leave you scrambling for alternatives. Sometimes you want luxury and all the bells and whistles, but sometimes you just want a place that feels right, where you can settle in and focus on why you’re traveling in the first place.
The concierge service in Munich can arrange exclusive castle tours, secure reservations at traditional beer halls, and organize day trips to Neuschwanstein Castle and the Bavarian Alps.

Large and quiet place, a paradise for the 60's style lovers.
Not many restaurants around, but nice supermarkets where I could get great and fresh salads
What could be improved: no wi-fi. Interaction with owner a little bit cahotic. Hot water was off in the morning for the last 3 days of my stay. Very energizing 😉Tellez from Mexico – 4 October 2024 (8/10)

Das Apartment war sehr komfortabel eingerichtet und sehr sauber. Uns hat die Lage sehr gut gefallen, die U 4/5
ist keine 100 m von der Wohnung entfernt, somit waren wir in 10 Minuten am Karlsplatz.
