Overview
First Impressions
Walking up to Boutique Hotel Germania on Schwanthalerstraße, you immediately get that “this is going to be good” feeling. It’s one of those four-star places that doesn’t try too hard — the kind of hotel that feels both polished and approachable. The building itself has character, and honestly, the location couldn’t be better if you’re planning to actually explore Munich rather than just pass through.
Location That Actually Matters
Here’s what I love about where this place sits — you’re in Ludwigsvorstadt, which means you can walk to the main train station in about five minutes, but you’re not dealing with all that chaos right outside your window. The Oktoberfest grounds are practically next door (trust me, this matters if you’re visiting in September), and getting to the old town takes maybe fifteen minutes on foot. I mean, couples seem to really get this — they’ve rated the location 8.0, and I can see why. You’ve got that perfect balance of being central without feeling like you’re sleeping in the middle of a tourist trap.
The Room Experience
The rooms here are what I’d call thoughtfully designed — not flashy, but everything works exactly as it should. You know what impressed me most? The attention to small details that actually matter when you’re tired from a day of sightseeing. The beds are genuinely comfortable (not just hotel-marketing comfortable), and there’s enough space to spread out your stuff without feeling cramped. The bathrooms are modern and well-lit, which honestly makes such a difference when you’re getting ready to head out for the day.
Morning Fuel
The breakfast situation here is solid — they do a proper buffet that covers all the bases without being overwhelming. You’ll find the usual German bread selection (which is actually excellent), along with fresh fruit, decent coffee, and enough variety to keep everyone happy. It’s served in a bright space that makes starting your day feel pleasant rather than rushed. Nothing fancy, but it gets the job done and sets you up well for whatever Munich adventure you’ve got planned.
Why Guests Love It
What really works about Germania is that it delivers on the practical stuff while still feeling like a proper boutique experience. The parking situation is sorted if you’re driving (which isn’t always a given in Munich), and the staff genuinely seems to know the neighborhood well enough to point you toward the good local spots. With that 8.3 location score, you’re basically getting the best of both worlds — easy access to everything you want to see, but you’re staying somewhere that feels like it has its own personality rather than just being another generic hotel. The restaurant serves excellent local cuisine, and the kitchen facilities in select suites provide added convenience for extended stays.
Hotel in Munich booking should be done early, especially during Oktoberfest when the city hosts the world’s largest beer festival and cultural celebration.

Guest Reviews
Quality for price was excellent
Single room but big bed.
I loved the bed, super comfortable, and it was super clean
What could be improved: Is very dark, and I don’t like the location very much but is not something they can control
Staffs are so friendly and we can leave baggage at the hotel when we check out
What could be improved: From Munich HBF with large baggage not convenience becuase foot path and road crossing not smooth eventhough distance from hbf to hotel is nearby.
Comfortable bed and shower room. Nice staff.
What could be improved: I’m afraid strangers along the road to hotel.
Relaxed reception area , nice decor, helpful staff in a handy location. We can't comment on the breakfast but it did smell good.
The staff were very polite and helpful
What could be improved: The bathroom could have been a little bigger otherwise it was amazing
The room was large and quite comfortable. There is a parking garage next to the hotel. The staff is friendly.
What could be improved: There was no exhaust fan in the bathroom, which is quite inconvenient.
Close to train and easy walk to see in old town.
Room amenity and close proximity to railway station
The room was clean and the bed was comfortable
Good location
What could be improved: The area was a bit dodgy, that said i felt generally safe and many hotels are based in that area.
The elevator did not work at some point during our safe however it was fixed soon.
