Overview
First Impressions
Walking into Novotel München City Arnulfpark, you immediately get that “this is going to work out well” feeling. The lobby has this modern, uncluttered vibe that feels distinctly German — efficient but warm, you know? It’s a four-star property that doesn’t try too hard to impress, which honestly makes it more impressive. The staff switched effortlessly between German and English when I was checking in, and there’s something reassuring about a hotel that just runs smoothly from the moment you arrive.
Location & Getting Around
Here’s what I love about the Arnulfpark area — you’re in Munich proper, but it doesn’t feel touristy or overwhelming. The hotel sits in this developing district that locals actually use, with the Donnersbergerbrücke S-Bahn station literally a few minutes’ walk away. I mean, you can be at Marienplatz in about ten minutes by train, or walk to the Hauptbahnhof in roughly the same time if you prefer. The neighborhood has this authentic Munich feel — there’s a good mix of offices, residential buildings, and that relaxed Bavarian pace that makes the city so livable.
The Room Experience
The room I stayed in faced the quieter courtyard side, which turned out to be perfect for sleeping. And honestly, those beds live up to the hype — I’m usually a light sleeper, but I slept like a rock here. The design is clean and contemporary, with these floor-to-ceiling windows that flood everything with natural light during the day. What I appreciated most was the attention to practical details: plenty of power outlets, a work desk that’s actually usable, and a bathroom with a proper shower that has decent water pressure. Sometimes it’s the simple things that make or break a stay.
Breakfast & Amenities
The breakfast buffet deserves a mention — it’s comprehensive without being overwhelming, with a good mix of German staples and international options. Fresh bread, local cheeses, and they actually make decent coffee, which isn’t always a given at hotel buffets. The parking situation is refreshingly straightforward too — they have their own garage, so you don’t have to circle the block looking for street spots. There’s also a fitness area that’s compact but well-equipped, perfect if you want to squeeze in a quick workout without leaving the hotel.
Why Guests Love It
What really sets this place apart is how it balances being a business hotel with genuine comfort for leisure travelers. Couples seem to particularly appreciate the location — and I can see why, since you’re close enough to everything but far enough from the crowds to actually relax. The whole experience feels thoughtfully designed rather than just functional. You’re not paying for unnecessary frills, but everything that matters — sleep quality, location, reliable service — is spot on. It’s the kind of place where you’d happily book the same room again on your next Munich trip.

Guest Reviews
Location and staff very nice
What could be improved: NA
We had a fantastic stay at the Novotel! It had everything we wanted and more. The breakfast was great and the staff were very friendly. Highly recommend.
Clean, modern, tasteful. Underground garage parking.
What could be improved: You need to walk or transport to restaurants and sightseeing.
All was great
What could be improved: None
What could be improved: It was a bit of a walk to the train station but it can be done!
Good furniture, modern room, good breakfast
What could be improved: Gym is small
Hotel facilities and clean level as well breakfast was good and location was nice one
What could be improved: Nothing major
It's a very good hotel, the food is also very good, the location is beautiful, I recommend it 100%. The quality of service is more than the price.
We were very satisfied with everything in the room – clean, comfortable, and well-equipped. The location was excellent, close to everything we needed. Would definitely stay again!
What could be improved: The one big downside was that the hotel doesn’t offer free parking for guests. Charging €24 per night feels quite steep, especially considering the price of the room.
We really appreacite the cleanliness of the hotel, the friendly staff, the interior, the luggage storage when you can we can put our luggage while waiting for our bus, it was very convenient we could stroll around the town without our luggage in tow and plus the upgrade.
