Hotel Description

You know what struck me first about the Amiga Hotel München Messe? It’s one of those places that doesn’t try to be something it’s not – and honestly, that’s refreshing. This 3-star spot sits in a quieter part of Munich, and while it might not have the Instagram-worthy lobby of those fancy downtown places, there’s something genuinely comfortable about walking through those doors after a long day of exploring the city.

The thing about staying near the Messe area is that you’re actually in a pretty smart position – I mean, you’ve got solid transport connections without the constant tourist buzz that can make some parts of Munich feel a bit overwhelming. The rooms have that clean, no-nonsense German efficiency going for them, and the beds are surprisingly good (I’m picky about mattresses, so this matters). The bathrooms are compact but well-designed, and you’ll appreciate the decent water pressure after walking around Munich all day. What I really liked was how quiet it gets at night – you’re far enough from the main party areas that you can actually sleep, but close enough to hop on the U-Bahn and be in the heart of things in twenty minutes or so.

The staff here seem to genuinely care about getting things right, which probably explains that solid 7.9 rating. They’re not overly chatty, but they know their stuff about the city and will point you toward the good local spots if you ask. Breakfast is… well, it’s continental breakfast, but they do it properly with some local touches that show they’re paying attention. The whole place has this understated reliability to it – like that friend who always shows up when they say they will. It’s not going to blow your mind with luxury, but it’ll take care of you while you’re discovering what Munich has to offer. Plus, the value here is actually pretty decent when you consider Munich’s hotel prices can get pretty steep, especially during Oktoberfest or when there’s something big happening at the trade center.

Reviews

  • Megan from United Kingdom – 3 August 2024 (8/10)

everyone was here to see a certain someone.
Really well connected to central Munich and Munich messe stadium- took less than 30mins to get there and no issues getting back after the concert

Booked very late and got a good price comparatively

What could be improved: There was a ledge above the head of the bead which meant you couldn’t sit up in bed- but not a deal breaker just a note

Breakfast was really good! I thought breakfast was untill 11:00 (I was there on saturday), but it was untill 10:30. The lady the lady who ownes the hotel thought it was no problem that I was too late and I still could enjoy the nice breakfast. Really Nice people working in the hotel (mother and daughter who I spoke with). The daughter gave me a nummer to call a cab. But with public transport it’s also really good to manage. My room was small (1 person room) but everything was clean. I was there for the Adele concert and in about 15 minutes I was at the concert. From the hotel to the centre of Munich it was about 20 minutes with public transport.
