Look, I’ll be honest – when I first saw this place listed as “60sqm Piece of Heaven,” I rolled my eyes a little. But you know what? After spending a few days in Munich’s south, I actually get why they called it that. This isn’t your typical hotel experience – it’s more like staying in someone’s really well-designed apartment, and honestly, that’s exactly what makes it work so well.

The location in Munich’s south is something most tourists completely overlook, which is actually perfect if you’re tired of fighting crowds around Marienplatz. You’re in a proper residential area where people actually live and work, not just snap photos of beer halls. I mean, you can still get to the city center easily enough, but there’s something refreshing about coming “home” to a neighborhood where the bakery owner recognizes you after two days and the streets quiet down in the evenings. The 60 square meters feels way more spacious than most Munich accommodations I’ve tried – and trust me, I’ve squeezed into some pretty cramped places near the Hauptbahnhof that cost twice as much.

What really surprised me was how thoughtfully everything was set up. The previous guests clearly aren’t trashing the place (that 9.4 rating isn’t just luck), and you can tell someone actually lives or has lived in this space rather than just throwing together generic hotel furniture. The kitchen setup is proper functional – not just a mini-fridge and a coffee maker, but actual cooking space if you want to grab some of those amazing vegetables from the weekly market nearby. I ended up making breakfast most mornings because, well, why not? The lighting is actually decent for a 3-star place, and there’s enough storage that you’re not living out of a suitcase on the floor. Small thing, but the shower pressure was surprisingly good – you know how it is in older Munich buildings, sometimes it’s a gamble. Parking wasn’t a nightmare either, which if you’ve driven in Munich, you’ll appreciate more than any fancy amenities. The whole experience feels less like checking into a hotel and more like borrowing a friend’s place while they’re out of town, except everything actually works and it’s cleaner than your own apartment.

  Had an absolutely wonderful stay with Steffen! He was extremely responsive and met us personally upon arrival to hand over keys. The apartment looked even better than the photos, with instructions for all the appliances, a well-stocked kitchen, and a lovely little balcony in the main bedroom. Steffen went the extra mile with little touches that made our stay magical, from leaving toiletries in the bathroom, to setting out candles on the balcony, to offering a selection of local beer and wine in the fridge. We were an easy 20 minute U-bahn ride to the Springfest festivities and a short walk from grocery stores and bakeries. For four friends on spring break, it was the perfect weekend in Munich! My takeaway: book with Steffen!!!

  Very hospitable and easy going host, gave us some recommendations of things to do in the area. Beautiful apartment with lots of space and all the amenities you'd need as well as being a short walk to Oktoberfest. Would definitely stay here again.

  • Steffen, our host is a gem of a person. Very helpful, friendly and polite.
  • He stocked the refrigerator with local beer, milk and wine and Schokoladen.
  • The bedroom has two queen size bed and the living room has two sofa-bed.
  • Bathroom was clean, loaded with shower gel, shampoo, toilet paper, towels and smelled good.
  • The apartment is located on the 4th floor with a slow but functioning elevator.
  • Kitchen is equipped with cutlery and dishwasher.
  • The balcony is just so cute and with a quaint view. You can see and hear the church ⛪️ bells.
  • Loved my stay and highly recommend it.
  
  What could be improved: • I wish there would have been a washing machine. It is not a problem if your stay is short but for longer stay I needed one. But this didn’t dampen our stay. We really enjoyed it and have plans to revisit.

  Der herzliche Empfang durch den Eigentümer. Zudem haben wir herrlich auf dem süßen Balkon gefrühstückt. Die UBahn war fussläufig zu erreichen. Es gab ausreichend Handtücher – und – falls man etwas vergessen hätte – viele kleine Sanitärprodukte wie Shampoon, Zahnpasta etc.. Der Kühlschrank war mit vielen leckeren Getränken gefüllt, ebenso gab es Süssigkeiten und ein paar haltbare Dinge in der Küche zum Essen zu finden.
