You know what struck me first about this place? The name literally tells you everything – it’s genuinely right in the heart of Munich, and I mean properly close to Hauptbahnhof, not that “walking distance” nonsense some places claim. When I stepped out the front door, the main train station was maybe a 3-minute stroll, which honestly saved my trip when I had an early morning connection to catch.

The apartment itself has that lived-in Munich charm that you can’t fake – thick walls that actually keep the street noise down (miracle, considering you’re basically in the city center), and windows that open properly so you can get that crisp Bavarian air flowing through. I stayed during Oktoberfest season, which was probably insane timing, but the location meant I could stumble back from the festivities without paying ridiculous taxi fares or figuring out night transport. The 8.8 rating makes total sense once you’re there – it’s not trying to be some fancy hotel with marble lobbies, but everything works exactly as it should. The kitchen had proper plates and glasses, not those flimsy things you usually get, and there’s actually decent water pressure in the shower.

What I really appreciated was how it sits perfectly between tourist Munich and real Munich, if that makes sense. You’ve got all the postcard stuff within walking distance – Marienplatz is maybe 10 minutes if you dawdle and window shop – but you’re also surrounded by actual neighborhood spots where locals grab their morning coffee and weekend groceries. There’s this little bakery around the corner that does incredible pretzels, and honestly, that became my daily ritual. The area gets busy during the day because, well, central Munich, but evenings settle into this nice urban hum rather than party chaos. Parking is typical city center nightmare, so definitely use public transport, but with Hauptbahnhof right there, you’re connected to everything anyway. I took day trips to Neuschwanstein and Salzburg without any hassle – just walked to the station and hopped on whatever train I needed. Three stars feels about right for the formal rating, but sometimes those ratings miss the point entirely. This isn’t about thread counts or concierge services; it’s about having a proper base in one of Europe’s best cities without paying resort prices or dealing with hotel breakfast schedules and key card drama.

  Great apartment and amazing location. It was a very nice, easy walk to the city center and a quick 5 minute walk to the train station. The hosts were very helpful and responsive. Would definitely stay here again.

  Great location especially if you have car, but be aware that you need to get Plakette to drive in town center. We got all needed instructions in time and it was easy to get in apartment and park the car. We had everything we needed in the apartment and enough space for our stuff even in the bathroom, which was unexpectedly great. There is small outdoor space which must be wonderful in summer, but we didn’t use it because of rain and cold. Also we got some water and snack as compliment, which was really nice from host side.

  The apartment is very central to all major attractions in Central Munich. Hauptbahnhof is just a 5-10 mins walk away. It was specially helpful for us as it is also a 1 block walk to the Oktoberfest grounds.

  The apartment itself was warm and inviting, with tasteful decor that struck a perfect balance between modern comfort and Bavarian charm. The living space was well-equipped with a comfy sofa, a flat-screen TV, and a dining area that felt like home. The kitchen had all the essentials for cooking, and the bed was plush and restful, ensuring a great night’s sleep. The free Wi-Fi was fast and reliable, which was a bonus for staying connected.The excellent communication and coordination from the host made the entire experience seamless. From booking to check-in, they were responsive, friendly, and quick to provide helpful tips about Munich’s best spots. The check-in process was smooth, with clear instructions and a warm welcome that set a positive tone for the stay.
  
  What could be improved: There were a couple of minor downsides. The toilet flush had a slight issue, requiring an extra push to work properly, which was a bit inconvenient but manageable. Additionally, the closet in the bathroom seemed slightly blocked, and the glass door in the bath area was a bit tricky to maneuver, possibly due to a minor alignment issue. These were small hiccups that didn’t significantly detract from the overall experience, but they’re worth noting for future improvements.

  The check-in instructions by the host was clear. Maybe the host can also add instructions which exit to use when coming from Munich Central Station. We used the wrong exit on the day of our arrival and had a long walk. In reality, the train station is just 12 minutes a way if you know the route already.
  
  I liked that we were able to cook our breakfast. Lisa had coffee grounds ready for pressing which I truly appreciate as a coffee lover.

  Lisa was very helpful with our needs. Very good explanation of how to get there and how to enter. Super organized with videos to enter the building, apartment and garage. Impeccable cleanliness and very close to old downtown. We did everything on foot.
