So here’s the thing about Westend Hotel – it’s one of those places that doesn’t try to be fancy, and honestly, that’s exactly what makes it work. You know when you walk into a hotel and immediately feel like you can just… breathe? That’s this place. The whole building is non-smoking (which I didn’t realize how much I’d appreciate until I got there), so everything actually smells clean instead of that weird mix of air freshener trying to mask old cigarettes.

The 3-star rating is spot-on – they’re not pretending to be something they’re not, but what they do, they do well. My room was properly quiet, which if you’ve stayed in budget places before, you know that’s not always a given. The beds are actually comfortable (I’m picky about this stuff), and the shower had decent water pressure. I mean, it’s not going to blow you away, but after a long day of walking around, it felt perfect. What I really liked was how the staff seemed to actually care – check-in was smooth, and when I asked about nearby places to grab coffee in the morning, the guy at the front desk gave me specific recommendations instead of just pointing to their lobby café.

The 7.6 rating makes sense when you experience it. It’s not luxury, but there’s something refreshing about a place that focuses on getting the basics right rather than loading you up with amenities you probably won’t use anyway. The location works well if you don’t mind a short walk to get to the main action – actually, I preferred it because you get that neighborhood feel without being stuck in the middle of all the tourist chaos. Parking was easier than I expected too, which anyone who’s driven into this area will tell you is a minor miracle. Look, if you’re the type who needs a spa and room service, this probably isn’t your spot. But if you want a clean, comfortable place to crash that won’t eat up half your travel budget, and you appreciate when a hotel just does hospitality right without all the fuss – yeah, I’d definitely stay here again.

Hotel in Munich booking should be done early, especially during Oktoberfest when the city hosts the world’s largest beer festival and cultural celebration.

  Hotel provided the coffee and tea, also apples as free. It was very worked well for city travelers who walk a lot and want to have a warm liquid and vitamin 😊

  The room was very clean and it hard everything you might need, even though it was a bit small. The staff was very helpful and it had a good parking spot. The position is good but it is a 20/30 minute walk from the main square, nonetheless it is next door to a great shopping center where you can find everything you might need

  Very good location. Excellent staffs. There were multiple staffs during day/nights. All of them were very helpful and ready to help with everything I asked/requested. Top floor room had nice view. Luggage storage after stays was extremely helpful. They allowed me to check in 3 hours before – so kind of them. Free tea/coffee. Overall, a very nice experience.

  Located in a quiet neighborhood with cafes and restaurants, close to Central Station, small but cozy rooms, nice breakfast (10 Euro), free coffee & tea, unfussy service, will consider for my next visit to Munich.

  We stayed here for 3 nights for a short weekend trip in Munich. The rooms and hotel itself was a lot more artsy and well furnished/styled inside than we’d expected it to be – the photos definitely don’t do it justice.
  
  Loved the free unlimited use of the coffee machine and tea station downstairs and there’s a great bakery directly across the street that we had breakfast at every day for about $5-6aud pp. The hotel’s breakfast buffet looked pretty basic for the price of $20audpp so we’re happy we didn’t go for that option.
  
  Only complaints would be that there’s no water refill stations or taps in the dining area (and our standard sized water bottle couldn’t fit under the tap in our room) so we had to fill up our water in the downstairs male bathroom which felt a bit gross. We had to leave the windows open to cool the room down at night, and unfortunately there was quite a bit of street noise that came through despite being on the 4th level, though earplugs did the trick.
  
  Location was about a 20min walk from the old town. Definitely not as nice of an area as other hotels but for the price and comfort, I think it’s very much worth it. Would 100% return here if we came back to Munich 🙂
