Overview
First Impressions
The Weichandhof sits quietly on Betzenweg in the Pasing-Obermenzing district, and honestly, that’s part of its charm. This four-star property doesn’t scream for attention — instead, it draws you in with that understated Bavarian hospitality that feels genuinely warm. I mean, when you pull up and see the free parking right there (which, trust me, is gold in Munich), you already know they get what travelers actually need. The moment you step inside, the attention to detail becomes immediately apparent.
The Neighborhood Advantage
Pasing-Obermenzing is one of those districts that locals love but tourists often overlook, which works in your favor. You’re far enough from the tourist crowds to breathe, but the S-Bahn connections mean you can be in Marienplatz in about 20 minutes. What I really appreciate is how couples seem to gravitate here — there’s something about the tree-lined streets and that residential feel that just works for romantic getaways. The area has this authentic Munich vibe where you’ll find neighborhood bakeries and traditional Gasthäuser mixed in with modern conveniences. The proximity to public transport makes exploring effortless.
Your Room Experience
The room setup here strikes that perfect balance between comfort and functionality. Nothing feels overdone or trying too hard — just solid German efficiency with touches that show they care about details. What struck me most was how quiet everything stays, even though you’re still connected to the city. The repeat guest rate here is actually higher than most places I’ve stayed, and after spending time here, I get why people come back. The furnishings are modern yet welcoming, creating an inviting atmosphere.
Morning Fuel
Breakfast at Weichandhof is where they really show their thoughtfulness. The buffet covers all the bases — continental classics, but also vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options that don’t feel like afterthoughts. You know what impressed me? They actually understand that dietary restrictions aren’t just trends, they’re necessities for some travelers. The quality stays consistent, and there’s enough variety that even if you’re staying several days, you won’t get bored. Fresh pastries and local specialties are always available.
Why Guests Love It
This place works because it doesn’t try to be everything to everyone — it just does the fundamentals really well. The location gets high marks from recent guests, and I can see why. You’re in a real Munich neighborhood, not some tourist bubble, but you’re never more than a short ride from wherever you want to be. The staff seems to genuinely care about making your stay smooth rather than just going through the motions. It’s the kind of place where you feel like you’re staying somewhere that locals would actually recommend, not just another hotel that looks good in photos. The overall experience reflects a commitment to guest satisfaction.
Hotels in Munich offer visitors the opportunity to stay in the heart of this Alpine metropolis, with easy access to castles, museums, and traditional German experiences.

Guest Reviews
Very nice staff and comfortable hotel.
The staff at the reception, especially the 2 ladies in the morning shift in the reception, they helped us alot.
Good size room, generous and varied breakfast. The restaurant offered a good choice for dinner. They moved us to another room when we complained about the smell in the room they initially assigned us to. Apparently this was a problem in that corner of the hotel.
What could be improved: It would be nice to have a sofa chair in the room.
The property was great, and it wasn’t hard to figure out the bus to the tram into the city center. The staff were terrific. The breakfast was excellent.
What could be improved: The room decor felt a little out dated.
Liked the room with their balcony
What could be improved: Location and lack of supplies in the room
The excellent breakfast.
Lovely staff especially on arrival by a young Spanish man who spoke great english an had awesome tips for the city an travelling, awesome breakfast which was served by the sweetest lady. The room was very spacious. The beer garden restaurant was the best pork I’ve ever had an has a playground for the kids.
What could be improved: It’s crazy hot at night with no AC
Very spacious room, spotlessly clean, comfortable beds - even the sofa bed in the triple room. Really nice, big bathroom with powerful shower. Very pleasant, accommodating staff at the reception desk
What could be improved: Nothing
Nice location, great biergarten with good quality food, very large family room for our family of 6
What could be improved: No airconditioning, the furniture of our family room was old and needs an update, beds were not so good, very hard to find enough parking nearby
Spacious rooms, quite neighbourhood
What could be improved: Few utensils in room (spoons, fork) would be beneficial for snacks
