The views are actually pretty decent if you crane your neck toward the square, and there’s something satisfying about being above all the tourist crowds milling around down there. You know what’s great? You can literally roll out of bed and grab a coffee at one of the cafés on Marienplatz before the day-trippers even figure out which U-Bahn exit to take. The Rathaus-Glockenspiel viewing spot gets absolutely mobbed by 10:30am, but if you’re staying here, you can scope it out early and claim your territory.
