The name actually makes sense once you walk inside – there’s this really thoughtful collection of local artwork throughout the lobby and hallways that feels curated, not just thrown up to fill wall space. It’s got that boutique hotel vibe without trying too hard, if that makes sense.

I mean, it’s solidly four stars and honestly delivers on that promise. The 8.0 rating feels about right – nothing’s going to blow your mind, but there aren’t any real disappointments either. The rooms are well-designed with these interesting artistic touches that tie into the whole gallery concept, and I was pleasantly surprised by how quiet it stays even when they’re busy. Check-in was smooth, and the staff actually seemed to know the neighborhood well when I asked about dinner spots. The beds are comfortable (not too soft, not too firm – you know how picky people can be about that), and the bathrooms have good water pressure, which honestly matters more than people admit.

What I really appreciated was how they’ve managed to create this artsy atmosphere without making it feel pretentious. The common areas have this relaxed energy where you could actually sit and work on your laptop or just hang out without feeling like you’re disturbing some carefully crafted aesthetic. They’ve got this little coffee setup that’s available most of the day – not fancy craft stuff, but decent and convenient when you need that afternoon pick-me-up. The lighting throughout the hotel is really well done too; warm enough to feel welcoming but bright enough that you’re not squinting at everything. I stayed during what seemed like a pretty busy period and never felt like the place was chaotic or understaffed. Sure, it’s not going to compete with those big luxury chains if you’re looking for a spa or room service at 2 AM, but for a solid, well-run hotel with some personality and attention to detail, TheGallery delivers exactly what you’d hope for. Plus, there’s something refreshing about staying somewhere that feels like the owners actually thought about the guest experience rather than just checking boxes on an amenities list.

  Very clean and comfortable. Plenty of room for everyone. Nice location if you don’t want to be downtown.
  
  What could be improved: Washing machine only. Drying rack but no electric dryer. Parking was a challenge.
