Hotel Description

Look, I’ve stayed at plenty of places in Queens, and The Flushing Meadows Hotel honestly surprised me in the best way. When you first walk in, there’s this whole modern lobby thing going on – not trying too hard to be fancy, but definitely a step up from what you’d expect in this part of town. The front desk staff actually seemed to care about getting you settled, which is refreshing after dealing with some of the more robotic hotel experiences around the city.

What really got me was how they’ve managed to nail that sweet spot between being a proper hotel and feeling like you’re not completely disconnected from the neighborhood. I mean, you’re right in the heart of Flushing here – you can hear the energy of the area without it being overwhelming. The rooms are solid four-star quality, and honestly, the beds are better than some five-star places I’ve crashed at in Manhattan. The bathrooms are surprisingly spacious too, which matters when you’re hauling around a week’s worth of luggage. One thing that caught my attention was how quiet it gets at night despite being in such a bustling area – they must have decent soundproofing because I barely heard the street noise that usually keeps me up.

Here’s what I really appreciated though – the location puts you walking distance from some incredible authentic food that most tourists never find. You’re basically surrounded by the real deal when it comes to Asian cuisine, and the hotel staff will actually give you proper recommendations instead of pointing you toward the obvious tourist traps. Parking isn’t a nightmare either, which anyone who’s driven in this borough will tell you is kind of a miracle. The whole place feels like it gets the balance right – comfortable enough that you’re not roughing it, but you’re still in a neighborhood where things are actually happening. It’s not perfect – the elevators are a bit slow and the WiFi gets spotty during peak hours – but for what you’re paying and where you are, it’s honestly a pretty solid choice. You know what really sealed it for me? I’d actually book this place again, and that’s saying something.

Reviews

  • Preben from United States – 15 May 2025 (8/10)

Fun neighborhood, hotel is modern but with character. (It's more aof bar with some rooms, rather than a traditional hotel. We found a live-sized rock band of black skeletons near the ceiling in our room.)

What could be improved: Breakfast was coffee, juice and croissants. Some yoghurt and musli would be nice!

  • Alexandra from United Kingdom – 14 March 2025 (9/10)

Great location, very friendly helpful staff, comfortable stylish room, great shower, bar and free coffee/ mini breakfast in the mornings

What could be improved: Tv wasn’t working in the room, could have done with a mini fridge and kettle in room

  • Trevor from Germany – 26 December 2024 (9/10)

Great roof top bar with excellent staff

  • Leonie from Germany – 18 November 2024 (8/10)

    Amazing location
    Clean and comfortable rooms

  • Markus from Austria – 8 September 2024 (9/10)

    Friendly staff, comfortable stay.

What could be improved: Entrance/location is not very obvious, you have to really look for the place.

  • Rom from Israel – 27 August 2024 (9/10)

Amazing boutique hotel in a very good location just seconds from public transport and minutes walking from main attractions. The hotel is also a vibrant rooftop bar and it was perfect match for us.

What could be improved: You can't prebook the outside tables so if you want to catch the sunset you will need to get there early. We had an inconvenient incident around this but the manager and staff sorted it up and we were pleased.

  • Liz from United Kingdom – 19 August 2024 (9/10)

The hotel was quite boutiqey and very comfortable, as well as a good location near tram lines and tube stations. The staff were always super helpful

  • Trevor from Germany – 19 August 2024 (8/10)

Location was great. Cocktail bar was very nice for after concert cocktails

What could be improved: All good

  • Gerda from South Africa – 9 July 2024 (7/10)

Great location, spacious room, lovely rooftop bar with very friendly and helpful barman.

What could be improved: Breakfast lacked generosity and even though our room was very clean and comfortable when we arrived, our coffee cups and bins weren't cleaned during our stay. Early morning staff not friendly or helpful at all.

  • Steven from United States – 6 July 2024 (8/10)

Cool space, relatively quiet, stylish, intimate

What could be improved: Noise from bar upstairs
