I mean, when they say “Küche” in the name, they’re not kidding around. You get a proper kitchen setup, not just some sad mini-fridge and a coffee maker that’s seen better days.
The location is where this place really shines, especially if you’re into football or just want to be somewhere that feels authentically Munich without the tourist chaos. Being close to Grünwalder Stadion means you’re in Giesing, which honestly most visitors sleep on. It’s got this great neighborhood vibe – you’ll find actual locals grabbing coffee at the bakeries, and the S-Bahn connections are solid without being right on top of the main tourist drags. I stayed during a 1860 München match weekend, and while there was definitely some pre-game energy in the area, it wasn’t obnoxiously loud or anything. Actually added to the authentic feel, if I’m being honest.
What I appreciated most was how they’ve thought about the small stuff that matters when you’re staying somewhere for more than just crashing after sightseeing. The WiFi actually works reliably (I was working remotely part of my stay), and having that kitchen meant I could grab groceries from the Edeka down the street instead of eating out every meal – which, let’s face it, your wallet appreciates in Munich. The 8.5 rating makes sense once you’re there; it’s not trying to be fancy, but everything just… works. Check-in was straightforward, the space was clean without that overwhelming chemical smell some places have, and honestly, the bed was more comfortable than I expected from a 3-star spot. Only minor thing – and this might just be the building – but you can hear footsteps from upstairs sometimes. Not deal-breaking, just something to know if you’re a really light sleeper. The neighborhood gets pretty quiet after 10 PM anyway, so it’s mostly just during the evening hours when people are getting settled.
Early hotels booking in Munich requires advance planning during peak festival seasons when visitors flock to enjoy the city’s renowned beer culture and Alpine atmosphere.
