Overview
First Impressions
Walking up to Sure Hotel by Best Western Muenchen Hauptbahnhof, you’ll immediately notice how close you are to everything that matters in Munich. I mean, the name gives it away — you’re literally steps from the Hauptbahnhof, which honestly makes this three-star hotel incredibly practical for travelers. The building itself has that clean, modern European hotel look without trying too hard to be fancy. It’s the kind of place that knows exactly what it is and does it well.
Location Magic
Here’s what I love about staying here — you can stumble off a train from anywhere in Europe and be in your room within minutes. But it’s not just about the train station convenience. The Maxvorstadt district puts you right in the thick of things, with the old town just a short walk away. Couples seem to get this location thing figured out quickly (they rate it nearly 9 out of 10), and I can see why. You’re close enough to duck back for a quick rest between exploring Marienplatz and hitting up the beer gardens.
The Practical Stuff
The rooms are what you’d expect from a solid three-star — clean, comfortable, and designed with travelers in mind rather than Instagram posts. There’s good wifi, decent storage space, and windows that actually open (which you’ll appreciate during Munich’s warmer months). The beds are properly firm, and the bathrooms are compact but functional. You know what really works here? The soundproofing is better than you’d think for being so close to a major train station.
Morning Fuel
Breakfast here is the continental buffet style that actually makes sense when you’re planning day trips around Bavaria. They’ve got the German breakfast basics covered — good bread, cold cuts, cheese, plus some hot options. It’s not going to blow your mind, but it’ll definitely fuel you for a day of walking around the Englischer Garten or taking that day trip to Neuschwanstein. The coffee is solid, and they usually have fresh fruit that doesn’t look like it’s been sitting around for days.
Why Guests Love It
This hotel gets something that a lot of Munich properties miss — sometimes you just need a reliable base that doesn’t eat your entire travel budget. The location score of 9.0 isn’t an accident; you’re genuinely in one of the best spots in the city for getting around. Whether you’re catching an early train to Salzburg or stumbling back from Oktoberfest (if you’re here during the season), this place just works. It’s not trying to be the fanciest hotel in Munich, but for travelers who want to spend their money on experiences rather than thread counts, it hits that sweet spot perfectly.

Guest Reviews
Location was great for our needs. Walking distance to bus station and Munich town square.
What could be improved: Nothing really
The Lufthansa bus from the airport terminates outside the hotel.
Location was perfect for bus transfer, trains and local guided trips. Room and towels cleaned daily
What could be improved: Rooms were very small, and didn't have a kettle
Problems solved quickly and easy location
What could be improved: Initially, we were put in a room that was much smaller than anticipated and reeked of smoke so bad we felt ill. We went down to the front desk and they moved us to a room identical to the one in the photos we booked. This new room had a no smoking sign on the door vs the original one did not. We felt as if they were trying to rip us off by putting us into that tiny smokers room at the beginning of our stay. They also told us no one smoked in that room but someone clearly had been.
Good location very close to München Hbf, very friendly staff and affordable room price.
What could be improved: Nothing in particular.
Across the street from the Train Station
The property is just across the street from Hbf which was perfect for me since I needed to Cath the 3:30 am train to Frankfurt. The room was cozy. The three persons at the front desk who I interacted with were very kind and professional.
What could be improved: all was perfect.
Excellent location downtown only walking distance from Marienplatz and right across the street from Central Station.
Sure Hotel in Munich was a great choice for our one-night stay. The staff was very friendly and welcoming, and our room was clean and comfortable. The location is excellent — just a short walk to the old town — though the area is a bit busy. Fortunately, the windows were well-insulated, so noise wasn’t an issue.
What could be improved: The only downside was the parking situation. We used a nearby parking garage (in Hirtenstrasse) and were told we’d receive a discount after getting a stamp from the hotel. The receptionist scanned something and assured us it was taken care of, but we ended up paying the full €30 for a day of parking. It was a bit disappointing, but overall, our stay at the hotel itself was pleasant.
Convenient location in relation to the railway station.
What could be improved: Nothing really.
