Look, I’ve stayed in my fair share of Super 8s across Germany, and honestly? This Munich location surprised me in the best way possible. You know how some budget chains can feel pretty sterile – well, this one actually has some character to it. The lobby’s got this oddly cozy vibe going on, and the staff seemed genuinely happy to help rather than just going through the motions.

The thing about staying in Munich’s northern area is that you’re sort of in this sweet spot between being close enough to the action but far enough out that you’re not paying those insane city center prices. I mean, you can hop on public transport and be at Marienplatz in maybe twenty minutes, but when you come back at night, it’s actually quiet enough to sleep properly. The neighborhood itself is pretty residential – lots of locals walking their dogs in the morning, a few decent bakeries within walking distance where you can grab proper German bread (trust me on this one). There’s this little Turkish place around the corner that stays open late if you need a real meal after a long day of tourist stuff.

What really sold me on this place was the practical stuff that actually matters when you’re traveling. The rooms are clean – I’m talking genuinely clean, not just “we changed the sheets” clean. Good water pressure in the shower, which honestly can be hit or miss in older European buildings. The beds are surprisingly comfortable for a budget spot, though I’d say bring earplugs if you’re a light sleeper since you can sometimes hear people in the hallway. Parking was straightforward too, which if you’ve ever tried to navigate Munich with a rental car, you’ll appreciate. The breakfast isn’t going to win any awards, but it’s solid – decent coffee, fresh rolls, the usual suspects. Gets busy around 8 AM when all the business travelers are rushing out, so either go early or sleep in a bit.

Here’s the thing though – this isn’t trying to be something it’s not. It’s a reliable, well-run budget hotel that happens to be in a city where accommodation can get pretty pricey pretty fast. The 8-star rating makes sense because it delivers exactly what it promises without any unpleasant surprises. No fancy spa or rooftop bar, but you’ve got Munich right outside your door for that kind of thing. I’d definitely stay here again, especially if I was doing one of those longer trips where you need to balance seeing the city with not blowing your entire budget on where you sleep.

  The room was exceptionally clean – modern and with all the usual features. I felt safe and comfortable. I needed to use both pillows.
  Breakfast was good. Bakery, cereals, dairy and coffee were all excellent.
  
  What could be improved: I arrived very late and the night porter was not the most welcoming but considering the time it was OK. . I stayed for two nights and expected a change of towels which did not come but again I coped. I could not get the room safe to operate but on this occasion it was not essential so I did not ask for help.
  For breakfast the hot food counter was not so exciting.

  Very good service, they let us check in early and the desk was constantly manned. The room and hotel were clean and had all the necessary amenities. It is also at the end of the tram line, so, while not central, it's extremely easy to access the centre of Munich.
  
  What could be improved: No breakfast included and not the biggest room, but these were to be expected for the great price.

  Breakfast was good, service was excellent and all the staff are friendly and much helpful. Location is also very convenience,
  either you take a tram, bus or subway and takes only 20-25 mins to downtown or surrounding destinations.
