You know what caught me off guard about Stadtwohnung am Oertelplatz? It’s one of those places that actually lives up to its stellar 9.3 rating without trying too hard. I mean, when you see a score like that, you’re usually bracing yourself for some overhyped disappointment, but this little gem near Oertelplatz genuinely delivers on the whole “home away from home” thing without being cheesy about it.

The location is honestly perfect if you want to experience how locals actually live in the city rather than being stuck in some tourist bubble. Oertelplatz has this relaxed neighborhood vibe – there’s a great little bakery just around the corner where you’ll smell fresh bread every morning (trust me, it becomes your alarm clock), and the area stays pretty quiet after 9 PM, which is amazing for actually getting decent sleep. The apartment itself feels like someone put real thought into what travelers actually need. The kitchen isn’t just for show – it’s got proper cookware, a decent-sized fridge, and all those little things you don’t realize you need until you don’t have them, like a good can opener and sharp knives. The WiFi is rock solid too, which honestly saved my work trip more than once.

What really impressed me was how the whole check-in process worked so smoothly – none of that awkward waiting around in a lobby situation. The host clearly knows their stuff and actually responds to messages quickly, which feels like a miracle these days. The space itself has this clean, minimalist thing going on without feeling sterile or cold. Good natural light, comfortable bed that doesn’t creak when you move (seriously underrated feature), and the shower has proper water pressure. I stayed there during what I later learned was a pretty busy festival weekend, and while you could hear a bit of distant music on Saturday night, it wasn’t the kind of thing that keeps you awake. The whole building seems well-maintained – no weird smells in the hallways or sketchy elevator situations. Parking can be a bit tricky in the area, but there are usually spots within a block or two if you’re patient, and honestly, the public transport connections are good enough that you might not even need a car depending on what you’re planning to do. It’s the kind of place where you can picture yourself settling in for a longer stay without going stir-crazy, which says a lot about how well they’ve thought through the space and location.

  The apartment is exactly the same with the description. The host is very friendly and quick response. The apartment is located in a lovely area, very near to the train and bus station. There is a tasteful Italian restaurant nearby that we went twice during our stay.

  Ideally located for transport links into Munich, literally a five minute walk to the train station. A choice of restaurants with a wide range of food options were also close to the apartment. Excellent space for two couples sharing and all of the equipment inside was of an high standard.

  Excellent location, very quick and easy to get into centre of Munich. Great apartment, everything spotless. Plenty of space and privacy, two bathrooms a bonus!

  Excellent location close to S-Bahn, shops and restaurants. Very spacious apartment with well equipped kitchen and great bathroom. Helpful to also have second small toilet and shower room. Outdoor patio a bonus. Key picked up from lock box with no difficulty. Did not meet hosts but quick email responses to queries.
  
  What could be improved: Unfortunately the WiFi did not work for the duration of our stay. Apparently this was a problem outside of the control of the hosts but was still something we missed (travelling with teenagers). If WiFi had been working would have rated property as 10.

  It was very conveniently located very close to the S-Bahn with great connection to the town Center and lots of shops near by.
  It was also very spacious with the two floors and well equipped with everything needed for a short stay.
