Hotel Description
You know what? I wasn’t sure what to expect when I booked this place – “Schönes Apartment in München” is pretty generic as names go, and honestly, the lack of a proper street address in the listing made me a bit nervous. But sometimes these unassuming spots turn out to be gems, and this one actually surprised me in a good way.
The apartment itself feels properly Bavarian without being kitschy about it – you’ve got those high ceilings that Munich buildings are known for, and the windows are big enough that you’re not squinting around in the dark all day. I mean, it’s clearly a 3-star setup, so don’t expect marble countertops or anything fancy, but everything works and feels clean. The kitchen actually has decent knives (you’d be amazed how many places cheap out on this), and there’s enough space to spread out your stuff without living out of a suitcase the whole time. What I really appreciated was how quiet it gets at night – Munich can be pretty lively, especially during festival season, but somehow this place manages to buffer most of the street noise.
Location-wise, you’re definitely in Munich proper, which is half the battle. I could walk to a proper bakery for morning semmel and coffee, and you know you’re in the right neighborhood when locals are actually doing their grocery shopping around you instead of just tourists taking photos. The U-Bahn connections are solid – I never felt like I was stranded way out in some suburb, though I’ll admit the exact area took me a day or two to really get oriented. Parking was… well, it’s Munich, so manage your expectations there. But honestly, once you’re settled in, you probably won’t need the car much anyway. The whole setup works really well if you’re planning to stay more than just a couple nights – there’s something nice about having a proper apartment base instead of feeling like you’re camping out in a hotel room. It’s not going to win any design awards, and sure, the 7.5 rating reflects that it’s solidly decent rather than spectacular, but sometimes that’s exactly what you want. Good value for what you get, especially considering Munich’s reputation for expensive everything.
