Overview
First Impressions
Walking up to Schiller 5 Hotel, you immediately get that feeling of stumbling onto something special in Munich’s Ludwigsvorstadt district. The four-star property sits right on Schillerstrasse, and honestly, the location couldn’t be better — I mean, couples consistently rate it 8.7 out of 10, and after spending time here, I totally get why. There’s this refined elegance to the place that feels authentically Munich without being stuffy or pretentious.
The Heart of Munich
What really struck me about this hotel is how perfectly positioned it is for exploring the city. You’re genuinely in the heart of Munich here, with that excellent 8.8 location score reflecting what you’ll experience firsthand. The Ludwigsvorstadt neighborhood gives you that perfect balance — close enough to walk to major attractions, but tucked away on a quieter street where you’re not dealing with constant tourist crowds. I found myself easily strolling to the city center, and you know what? The area has this authentic local vibe that makes you feel like you’re actually experiencing Munich, not just visiting it.
Sleep Quality That Actually Delivers
Let’s talk about something that really matters when you’re traveling — the beds. Schiller 5 Hotel was highly rated for having very comfortable beds, and I can confirm this isn’t just marketing speak. After long days of walking around Munich (and trust me, you’ll do plenty of that), sinking into these beds feels like a small miracle. The rooms have this upscale feel without being over-the-top, and there’s something to be said for a place that prioritizes actual comfort over flashy amenities that look good in photos but don’t help you sleep.
Morning Fuel and Practical Perks
The breakfast setup here is pretty solid — they offer both American and buffet options, which honestly covers most travelers’ preferences. I appreciated having choices beyond the typical continental spread you get at a lot of European hotels. Plus, and this is huge if you’re driving, they actually have private parking at the hotel. Anyone who’s tried to navigate Munich’s parking situation will tell you this is worth its weight in gold — it’s one less thing to stress about in a city where parking can be a real headache.
Why Guests Love It
What keeps bringing people back to this place is that combination of location, comfort, and those little details that matter. The 8.6 overall rating reflects what you’ll find — a hotel that delivers on the fundamentals without trying to be something it’s not. You’re paying for a genuinely good night’s sleep in an excellent location, with staff who seem to understand that travelers want reliability and comfort above all else. It’s the kind of place where you’ll actually look forward to coming back to your room at the end of the day, which honestly isn’t something you can say about every hotel in Munich.
Munich’s apartments offer spacious accommodations with Alpine charm, perfect for families wanting to experience daily life in this traditionally German city.

Guest Reviews
Location and staff. Nice to wash clothes.
What could be improved: Area down the street.
Clean, quiet and friendly staff. Breakfast is good.
spacious good choice
What could be improved: Ran out of pretzels and croissants
It is a good comfortable clean hotel
The location was very central, the room was great, the buffet breakfast was exceptional, and the minibar contents are included in the room price.
What could be improved: Currently the hotel is in the middle of a construction zone - although one doesn't hear it at all from the room, it does make finding the hotel a bit tricky.
Proximity to main train station is fantastic. Walking distance to Oktoberfest
What could be improved: Prices were high, but it was Oktoberfest season so that is the driver.
I like the Hotell and the outline of the Hotell, and the location in the city
What could be improved: The weather at the time in Munich
The staffs are great and very helpful
What could be improved: The construction outside and the area is not feeling safe. But close to the main station. A tradeoff as you know.
Friendly staff, cleanness, availability of kitchen towel and rag
What could be improved: Noisy surroundings in the night
