Look, I’ll be honest – when I first heard “Premier Inn,” I wasn’t expecting much. It’s basically the British equivalent of a solid mid-range chain, you know? But this München location actually surprised me in the best way possible. The thing is, they’ve managed to nail that sweet spot between reliable comfort and not breaking the bank, which honestly is harder to find in Munich than you’d think.

What really got me was how they’ve adapted the typical Premier Inn formula to work in a German city center context. The rooms have that signature purple and white scheme (which I know sounds weird but somehow works), and those Hypnos beds they’re always going on about? Yeah, they actually deliver. I mean, after walking around Munich all day – and trust me, you’ll be doing a lot of walking – you want something that doesn’t feel like sleeping on a park bench. The soundproofing is pretty decent too, which matters because Munich city center can get lively, especially during Oktoberfest season or when Bayern München has a home match.

The location is where this place really shines, though they don’t make a huge deal about it. You’re genuinely in the thick of things without being right on top of the tourist chaos. I could easily walk to Marienplatz in about ten minutes, maybe fifteen if I stopped for a pretzel along the way (which, let’s be real, always happened). The staff seemed to actually know the area – not just the obvious spots but like, where to grab a decent schnitzel that won’t cost you thirty euros, or which U-Bahn line to take if you want to avoid the crowds heading to Neuschwanstein. There’s something refreshing about checking in somewhere and getting real recommendations instead of just a glossy brochure about the same five attractions everyone already knows about. The breakfast was surprisingly solid too – proper German bread, decent coffee, and they didn’t skimp on the cold cuts and cheese selection. Nothing fancy, but after staying at places where breakfast feels like an afterthought, it was genuinely appreciated.

  We stayed in the premier plus room on the 8 th floor. It was sufficiently spacious, clean and comfortable. The breakfast was excellent and staff were helpful. Location was central to the old town and close enough to public transport and restaurants.
  
  What could be improved: Would appreciate a dedicated smoking area within the hotel so that one doesn’t have to step out into the street even in inclement weather.
