Hotel Description

You know what caught me off guard about Premier Inn München City Ost? It’s actually got this really solid, no-nonsense vibe that somehow feels more genuine than a lot of the flashier places I’ve stayed in Munich. I mean, it’s a 3-star property, so you’re not expecting marble lobbies or anything, but there’s something refreshing about a hotel that just… works without trying too hard.

The location in the east part of the city is honestly pretty smart if you think about it. You’re not paying those insane city center prices, but you’re still connected enough that getting around isn’t a headache. The U-Bahn connections from this area are actually quite decent – I found myself getting to Marienplatz faster than I expected, and there’s this great authentic Bavarian place just a few blocks away that definitely doesn’t see many tourists. The neighborhood has that lived-in Munich feel, you know? Real people going about their lives, not just endless souvenir shops. Parking was surprisingly straightforward too, which – if you’ve ever tried to park in central Munich – you’ll appreciate more than you might expect.

What really won me over was how the staff seemed to actually know their stuff about the city. The front desk guy (I think his name was Klaus?) gave me directions to this amazing beer garden that I never would have found otherwise, and when I mentioned I was trying to avoid the Oktoberfest crowds, he had these really specific suggestions about timing and alternative routes. The rooms themselves are clean and comfortable in that distinctly Premier Inn way – nothing fancy, but the beds are legitimately good and the shower pressure doesn’t make you want to cry. I stayed on the third floor and it was surprisingly quiet considering we’re talking about a city location. The breakfast was… well, it’s hotel breakfast, but they had proper German bread and the coffee was strong enough to actually wake you up, which honestly puts it ahead of some pricier places I’ve been.

The 8.1 rating makes total sense to me – it’s not going to blow your mind, but it delivers exactly what it promises without any unpleasant surprises. I actually found myself recommending it to my brother when he was planning his Munich trip, which I guess says something. It’s the kind of place where you sleep well, start your day properly fed, and head out to explore the city without feeling like you either overpaid or settled for something sketchy. Sometimes that’s exactly what you want, especially in a city like Munich where you’re probably spending most of your time out and about anyway.

Perfect for families 2+2, big and comfortable double bed. Good breakfast, own parking.

What could be improved: A bit far from the centre, there is no grocery store near the hotel to walk.

Really convenient hotel few minutes away from the city center.
The familly room was large and confortable, the breakfast simple but good.

  • Alexandra from United States – 22 February 2025 (8/10)

Overall our stay was good, stayed for 2 nights. The room has enough space where you don’t feel suffocated with having 2 people in there. It was very clean when we came in. Front desk was very helpful and professional

What could be improved: Trying to find the parking garage was a hassle. Directions weren’t given clearly so that took a while but once we found it, it was fine.
Also, very early in the morning some kids were running around. Not a hotel problem but worth mentioning

  • Maxim from Hungary – 2 February 2025 (9/10)

    Excellently decorated, clean, comfortable furniture.

What could be improved: It was a little chilly in the room.
