You know what? I wasn’t expecting much from Park Hotel Laim when I first pulled up – I mean, it’s in Laim, which honestly feels like one of those Munich neighborhoods that people drive through on their way to somewhere else. But here’s the thing about serviced apartments: they’re either surprisingly great or disappointingly sterile, and this place actually falls into the first category.

The whole setup is pretty straightforward – you get proper apartment-style rooms with little kitchenettes, which is honestly a game-changer if you’re staying more than a couple nights. I ended up cooking breakfast most mornings (there’s a decent REWE just down the street if you need groceries), and it felt way more normal than living off hotel breakfast buffets. The rooms themselves are clean and functional – not fancy, but everything works properly. The Wi-Fi actually holds up, which you can’t always count on, and the shower has decent water pressure. Small wins, but they matter when you’re dealing with jet lag and just want things to work.

What I really appreciated was how quiet it gets at night. Laim isn’t exactly party central, so you’re not dealing with drunk tourists stumbling around at 3 AM like you would closer to Marienplatz. The S-Bahn connection is actually pretty solid too – you can get into the city center in about fifteen minutes, and honestly, after spending your days walking around Munich’s tourist spots, it’s nice to come back somewhere that feels a bit more residential. The staff keeps things low-key but helpful – they’re not hovering around trying to upsell you on tours, but they’ll sort out any issues without making it a production. I had a problem with the heating one evening (this was in October, so it wasn’t exactly critical), and someone came up within twenty minutes to fix it. The parking situation is decent if you’re driving, though I’d recommend checking when you book since it’s not automatic. Overall, it’s one of those places that works well if you want to experience Munich without paying tourist-district prices or dealing with tourist-district chaos – just don’t expect room service or a concierge who knows where to get opera tickets.

  Clean and tidy. Load or space in the apartment.

  Great location. Great access to public transport. Quiet for sleeping. Comfortable beds. Spacious.
  
  What could be improved: Kitchen is badly equipped. Almost no cooking utensils. Not enough cutlery and not enough plates and bowls. Oven is not very clean.
  We had to buy our own mugs because there were none. There are only very small coffee cups. I asked for bigger cups at reception and I was refused. I was told they were only used for the hotel breakfast and I could not have any. I have never before stayed in a place without mugs.

  Huge rooms! Location is just 20 seconds from U-Bahn elevator (15 minutes to city center).
  OK selection of kitchen cutlery. Laundry is in the same apartment block in the basement.
  
  What could be improved: Dishwasher in our room was broken, though they sent a technician to fix it next working day
  A window in kitchen goes to internal closed technical room with some noisy mechanisms. From somebody who likes bright kitchen it may be a minus.

  What could be improved: Overall, nice place to stay. In kitchen would be appreciated tea pot, extra pot for cooking. Perhaps it might help furure guests. Due to special diet we were relying on kitchen equpment to prep our meals.

  What could be improved: A bit pricey, but it was also Oktoberfest. Careful for anyone with walking issues as the flat it was on the 4th story, and just stairs, no elevator.

  What could be improved: Dishwasher did not work; tv channels listed on card were not available; tv handset in bedroom nearest kitchen did not work (I changed the batteries and it still did not work); kettle was full of limescale; apartment had not been vacuumed in a while; soap dispenser in toilet empty; shower soap dispenser was non existent-the bracket was missing it seemed; wifi was weak in the whole apartment; door bin under kitchen sink broken.
