Look, I’ll be honest – when I first saw the listing for this place on Bodenseestraße, I wasn’t expecting much. The name’s a bit of a mouthful (basically just describes exactly what it is), and Aubing isn’t exactly the Munich neighborhood tourists usually dream about. But you know what? Sometimes the best finds are hiding in plain sight.

This little apartment actually surprised me in all the right ways. The kitchen – and I mean a proper kitchen, not some sad kitchenette with a broken hotplate – has everything you need if you’re tired of eating out every meal or trying to survive on hotel breakfast. I ended up cooking dinner there a couple nights, partly because I found this great little market just down the street, but mostly because after walking around Munich all day, sometimes you just want to stay in. The bathroom situation is refreshingly straightforward too – it’s yours, it’s private, and the shower pressure is better than half the fancy hotels I’ve stayed in. The S8 connection is genuinely useful, by the way. I mean, Aubing-Lochhausen-Langwied station sounds intimidating, but it’s literally a quick walk and then you’re connected to the whole city. Takes about 25 minutes to get to Marienplatz, which honestly isn’t bad when you consider you’re paying a fraction of what you’d spend staying in Altstadt.

What I really appreciated was how quiet it gets at night – and this is coming from someone who’s usually a light sleeper. During the day there’s the usual suburban hum of people going about their lives, but evenings settle into this peaceful rhythm that’s actually quite nice after dealing with tourist crowds. The area feels properly residential, which means you get glimpses of actual Munich life instead of just the postcard version. There’s a decent bakery within walking distance (the pretzels are solid, though not life-changing), and if you need groceries or forgot something, you won’t have to trek across the city. Parking was surprisingly painless too – I was dreading the usual Munich parking nightmare, but it worked out fine. The host was straightforward with check-in instructions, no drama or weird surprises. The 8.9 rating honestly makes sense once you’re there. It’s not trying to be something it’s not, but what it does offer – space, functionality, decent location, fair price – it delivers on. If you’re the type who needs to be stumbling distance from Hofbräuhaus, this probably isn’t your spot. But if you want a genuine place to actually stay while you explore Munich, with enough room to spread out and the freedom to grab groceries and make your own coffee in the morning, this little apartment gets the job done really well.

  If you use train (S8) the place is perfect. There is train every few minutes with connection to hauptbahnhof.
  The station is just 4 minutes on foot.
  The house is very comfortable, very clean, the bathroom is big.

  Everything pristine clean. New modern interior. Incredible comfortable large bed. Brilliant shower, great having smart tv. Kitchen facilities where greatly appreciated too. Host was friendly and always contactable .

  Location was close to a metro station (approx 300 M). Best to get directions from the Host and then the place is easy to locate. The the room had a fully equipped pantry. The room was comfortable and cozy.

  What could be improved: Das Appartement ist ein ausgebauter Teil des Keller, also nicht wie beschrieben im EG.
  Tageslicht erhält man nur durch einen Lichtschacht.
  Für eine Nacht vielleicht ok, nicht aber für unseren Aufenthalt von 4Tagen.
  WLAN oft schlecht.
  Handtücher nicht ausreichend.
  Keine Duschvorlage..
  Nicht genug Kleiderbügel.
  Wir haben welche gekauft und dagelassen.
  Sauberkeit im Bad geht eindeutig besser.
  Kein Tisch, zB. Zum Frühstücken
  oder Essen.
  Zuwenig Haken im Bad.
