Takes about 25 minutes to get to Marienplatz, which honestly isn’t bad when you consider you’re paying a fraction of what you’d spend staying in Altstadt.

What I really appreciated was how quiet it gets at night – and this is coming from someone who’s usually a light sleeper. During the day there’s the usual suburban hum of people going about their lives, but evenings settle into this peaceful rhythm that’s actually quite nice after dealing with tourist crowds. The area feels properly residential, which means you get glimpses of actual Munich life instead of just the postcard version. There’s a decent bakery within walking distance (the pretzels are solid, though not life-changing), and if you need groceries or forgot something, you won’t have to trek across the city. Parking was surprisingly painless too – I was dreading the usual Munich parking nightmare, but it worked out fine. The host was straightforward with check-in instructions, no drama or weird surprises. The 8.9 rating honestly makes sense once you’re there. It’s not trying to be something it’s not, but what it does offer – space, functionality, decent location, fair price – it delivers on. If you’re the type who needs to be stumbling distance from Hofbräuhaus, this probably isn’t your spot. But if you want a genuine place to actually stay while you explore Munich, with enough room to spread out and the freedom to grab groceries and make your own coffee in the morning, this little apartment gets the job done really well.
