Overview
First Impressions
Walking into Novotel München Messe, you immediately get that feeling of “okay, this place knows what it’s doing.” The lobby has this clean, modern vibe without being cold — you know, that sweet spot where business travelers and families both feel comfortable. I mean, it’s a four-star property, so your expectations are already set, but honestly, they deliver on that promise right from the start. The attention to detail in the public spaces sets a welcoming tone for your entire stay.
Location & Getting Around
Here’s the thing about staying in Trudering-Riem — you’re actually in a pretty smart spot if you’re visiting Munich for trade shows or just want to avoid the tourist chaos downtown. The hotel sits right at Willy-Brandt-Platz, and I’ve got to say, the transport connections are genuinely excellent. You can hop on the S-Bahn and be in the city center in about 20 minutes, which isn’t bad at all. Plus, there’s parking available right at the hotel, which — let’s be honest — is a huge relief if you’re driving in Germany. The neighborhood itself offers a quieter alternative to central Munich while maintaining excellent accessibility.
The Room Experience
The room I stayed in was exactly what you’d expect from Novotel — thoughtfully designed without any unnecessary frills. The bed was properly comfortable (not too soft, not too firm), and the workspace actually worked for getting things done. What I really appreciated was the attention to small details — good lighting, enough power outlets, and a bathroom that didn’t feel cramped. It’s clear they’ve thought about what business travelers actually need, but families won’t feel out of place either. Every element serves a practical purpose while maintaining a pleasant aesthetic.
Breakfast & Dining
The breakfast buffet here is honestly one of the better ones I’ve encountered at this level. They’ve got the usual suspects — fresh bread, cold cuts, eggs — but the quality is noticeably above average. The coffee is actually decent too, which you can’t always count on. I noticed quite a few repeat guests during my stay, and after experiencing the breakfast myself, I sort of get why people keep coming back. There’s something to be said for consistency when you’re traveling regularly. The restaurant staff maintains high standards throughout service hours.
Why Guests Love It
What really sets this place apart is how well it balances location with value — couples seem to particularly love it here, and I can see why. You’re close enough to Munich’s attractions without paying city center prices, and the whole area has this relaxed, less touristy feel. The fact that so many guests return speaks volumes about the service quality. It’s not trying to be the fanciest hotel in Munich, but it absolutely nails what it sets out to do. Whether you’re here for business at the nearby exhibition center or just want a solid base for exploring Bavaria, this Novotel delivers without any drama. The combination of comfort, convenience, and value makes it an excellent choice for diverse travelers.

Location and staff
What could be improved: All good.
I love this hotel and I use to stay there by my business trips to Munich very often. From the arrival with car, you will always find parking place without any problems in underground garage. Self opening doors to the lift are amazing. Helpful staff, comfortable rooms, very good breakfast. I will turn back for sure next time. :)
Good location if you need to visit the Messe. There is a shopping centre very close by
What could be improved: Breakfast is expensive, like most business hotels
Neat, well maintained, comfortable, good quality beds, roomy. Nice bathroom. Close to subway station.
What could be improved: Few or meaningless tv channels, quite a long way from city centre. Very expensive parking fees in parkade.
