Hotel Description

You know what? I wasn’t expecting much from Nena Apartments München City when I first walked up – the name’s pretty straightforward, no fancy flourishes or anything. But honestly, this place surprised me in the best way possible. It’s one of those 3-star spots that actually gets what travelers need without trying to be something it’s not.

The apartment setup is where this place really shines, and I mean that. You’re not cramped into some tiny hotel room where you can’t even open your suitcase properly. Instead, you get actual space to spread out – a proper kitchenette where you can make coffee without those awful pod machines, and honestly, after a few days of Munich’s restaurant prices, you’ll appreciate being able to grab groceries from the nearby markets. The apartments feel lived-in rather than sterile, which sounds weird but it’s actually comforting. There’s this sense that real people stay here regularly, not just tourists checking boxes off their Munich itinerary. I noticed the soundproofing is surprisingly good too – Munich can get pretty lively, especially during festival season, but I slept well even on weekend nights.

What really sold me on the place was how the staff seemed to know Munich inside and out. They didn’t just hand me a generic tourist map and wish me luck. When I mentioned wanting to find good beer that wasn’t in the obvious spots, they pointed me toward this local Wirtshaus about ten minutes away that I never would’ve discovered otherwise. The building itself has that solid Bavarian feel without being kitschy about it – you can tell it’s been around a while but they’ve kept it updated where it matters. The 8.2 rating makes total sense once you’ve stayed there; it’s not trying to be the Ritz, but for what it is, they do everything right. Plus, and this is crucial in Munich, the value is actually reasonable. I’ve stayed in “luxury” hotels here that charged twice as much for half the space and none of the character.

  This was our second stay in this place during our train trip to Italy. We got a different room (11), which was as nice as the previous one (3). It was really comfortable after the long journey. Coffee and tea was great to have. Also fridge and dishwasher were super useful.
  
  What could be improved: Again I have some remarks:
  There was a brown stain on the rug. It could have been chocolate, or something else.. We didn't feel comfortable with it, so we had to fold the rug. It was really visible, I'm not sure how cleaning crew could miss it.
  The TV was not working in that room.
  The pot had burning stains and pan was scratched. Recommend replacing them.

  Great location right near the Hackerbrücke and located in one of my favorite neighborhoods in the city – vibrant and full of bars and restaurants. Customer support was incredibly responsive and helped a great deal with all of my questions. The apartment was cozy and had all the amenities. The one thing, I didn't really like was the code system that got you into the building and apartment. It's not really self-explanatory and the dials on the outside of the building are quite fiddly and fickle, so sometimes, I had to input my code up to 4 times, until it was finally accepted.

  Spacious apartment, extremely comfortable for working online, very clean and neat, enough lighting (which really matters to me), excellent location.
  I had no problems with Internet.
  Even above my expectations. Extended my stay.
  
  What could be improved: Smoke alarm triggering in the apartment when somebody smokes in another apartment (maybe even on another floor?) and the personnel knocking at the door and immediately entering the apartment to see if the source of smoke is in your apartment or not. During 10 days of stay in happened 4+ times.

  What could be improved: It was very hot and changing the AC didn’t do much. We also were unlucky and got a fire drill which was only turned off after 1.5 h.

  Flexibility for booking modification was great, thank you for that! And the place is all new, kitchen well equipped, comfortable and big bed, nothing to complain about!
  
  What could be improved: Same code for building entrance and apartment. If somebody spies while you type the main entrance code, they could access your room.

  Nena apartments was an excellent location for Munich, and a kitchenette made it a super value for Munich. Check in and check out was easy, and the apartment is cozy and well appointed.
  
  What could be improved: Unfortunately while we were there, the fire alarm went off several times, once early in the morning, resulting in the building being evacuated each time. While this could happen anywhere, it took a long time to get it sorted each time—It’s a new spot so there may be kinks in communication between on-site security and owners to work out.
