Overview

Honestly, when I first walked into this place on Schwanthalerstraße, I wasn’t expecting much – I mean, the listing name is basically a sentence, right? But you know what hit me immediately? The sheer space of it all. We’re talking 110 square meters here, which in Munich terms is basically a palace. I’ve stayed in plenty of “spacious” European apartments that turned out to be glorified closets, but this one actually delivers on the promise.

The location is what really sold me though. You’re literally a five-minute walk from Hauptbahnhof, which sounds touristy until you realize how incredibly practical that is. I could grab fresh pretzels from the station bakery every morning (they open ridiculously early), and when friends visited, they didn’t need complicated directions – just “get off the train, walk toward the tall buildings.” The Ludwigsvorstadt neighborhood has this perfect mix of locals and travelers, so you get authentic German life without feeling completely out of place as a visitor. There’s a Rewe supermarket practically next door, and honestly, after years of hunting for groceries in unfamiliar cities, having one right there felt like luxury.

What surprised me most was how quiet it stays at night – you’d think being so central would mean constant noise, but the building seems well-insulated, and the courtyard setup blocks most street sounds. The apartment itself feels more like someone’s actual home than a rental property. The kitchen is properly equipped (I mean really equipped, not just a hot plate and hope), and there’s enough seating that our group of eight could actually eat dinner together without someone balanced on a suitcase. The 9.4 rating makes sense once you’re there – it’s those little details that add up. Good water pressure, decent WiFi that doesn’t cut out every ten minutes, windows that actually open for fresh air. Small things, but try living without them for a week.

I’ll be honest, it’s not the cheapest option in Munich, but when you break down the cost per person for a group, it’s actually pretty reasonable. Plus, you save money cooking some meals instead of eating out for every single one – and trust me, your stomach will thank you for the break from constant restaurant food. The check-in was straightforward, no awkward key exchanges or hunting around for the right entrance. Just clear instructions and everything worked exactly as described.

If you’re traveling with a group and want to feel like you’re actually living in Munich rather than just passing through, this place hits that sweet spot. You’re close enough to walk to Marienplatz when the mood strikes, but far enough from the tourist chaos to decompress at the end of the day. I’d definitely book it again – which, coming from someone who rarely stays in the same place twice, says something.

A good place

Large apartment with everything you need, clean and acceptable all together. Easy access, easy parking, we also liked the coffee machine.

What could be improved: One room is very big and has 9 beds. The other is very small and has 2 beds. Only one bathroom. Indeed soft pillows

Great place to stay and highly recommend. I loved how close it is to the train station, grocery store and shops.

Lots of storage and the espresso machine.

What could be improved: The water container for the espresso machine was dirty but I cleaned it. It had a film that was hard to clean. Maybe a few more cooking supplies like a baking sheet. Other than that it was great.

Great location apartment for XL groups

The apartment location is awesome for someone who wants to then visit the Oktoberfest location! I would definitely recommend to anyone visiting with a large group.

What could be improved: Having only one bathroom is a bit a problem for larger groups, but it is only a small point.
