Hotel Description

You know what? Munich Aparthotel isn’t going to win any design awards, but honestly, that’s kind of refreshing. I’ve stayed here twice now – once during Oktoberfest (terrible planning on my part) and again last spring – and it’s become my go-to spot when I want something reliable without the fuss of those boutique places that try too hard.

The thing about this place is it actually feels like an aparthotel, not just a regular hotel room with a tiny fridge shoved in the corner. The kitchenette is proper sized – I mean, you can actually cook a real meal if you want to, though let’s be honest, you’re in Munich, so why would you? But having that space to spread out your stuff, store some groceries, maybe eat breakfast without sitting on the bed… it makes a difference, especially if you’re staying more than a couple nights. The rooms themselves are clean and functional, though the decor is stuck somewhere in the early 2000s – think lots of beige and those generic landscape prints that every mid-range hotel seems to have. But the beds are surprisingly comfortable, and the shower pressure is actually decent, which is more than I can say for some of the pricier places I’ve tried.

What I really appreciate is how straightforward everything is here. Check-in is quick, the staff speaks good English (and they’re patient with my terrible German), and there’s none of that fake enthusiasm you get at chain hotels. The neighborhood is solid too – you’re not right in the tourist chaos, but you can easily get to the Altstadt or wherever you need to go. There’s a decent bakery about two blocks away that opens early, and a little Turkish place around the corner that does amazing döner if you need a late dinner. Parking can be a bit tricky during busy periods, but there’s usually something within walking distance. The only real downside I’ve noticed is that the walls are a bit thin – if you get stuck next to a family with young kids or someone who likes to watch TV at full volume, you’ll know about it. But honestly, for the price point and the extra space you get, it’s a trade-off I’m willing to make. It’s not fancy, but it does exactly what it says on the tin, and sometimes that’s exactly what you need.

  The location is great, 10 minutes walk to the train station. It's also close to restaurants and various shops, only a few minutes walk. The place is clean, the rooms are cozy. Although it's quite small but it's not a big deal for us.

  What could be improved: Our flight landed in Munich around 7am and we were at the property by 10. Though Fadi didn’t pick up the call for an early checkin but the cleaning ladies found us and they were too kind. They let us spend a few hours in an apartment that was in the same building but on a different floor that was just checked-out till our apartment was ready. This apartment was spacious and beautiful. Had we known earlier that this was an option we would have definitely booked it. We later checked-in into our apartment which was too cramped for the 3 of us as we had a lot of luggage and the sofa bed was tiny as well. But, overall a very well equipped apartment with a washing machine, metro & tram connectivity, supermarkets (relatively more expensive than hypermarkets), close proximity to various attractions and a jet spray in the washroom. The building also has a lift.

  The location was great; we could walk to the train station in minutes. We were also able to walk into the main city instead of using public transport.
  
  What could be improved: It was really small but doable for three people with one luggage bag each. There were three beds, two of them pushed together and one of them acting as a sofa as well. The washing machine was kind of janky, but we got it to work (we had to buy the detergent ourselves). Unfortunately, our clothes didn't fully dry in the room even after three and a half days.

  The location was great (just a block from a tram stop, 6 stops from the city center) and there were enough beds for our group of seven. Plus there was an elevator, which was nice.
  
  What could be improved: Small sinks and no hand towels in WCs, very poor water pressure in showers and uncomfortable mattresses. Also, the contact was unresponsive after we informed them we were there for parking (pre-arranged). After waiting for 30 minutes, we parked elsewhere.
