You know what struck me first about the Muc City de Lux? The sheer size of the place – 120 square meters is actually massive for a hotel room in Munich, honestly. I mean, most places in the city barely give you enough space to open your suitcase properly, but this spot on Ostpreußenstrasse really delivers on that “de Lux” promise. The location in Bogenhausen is pretty smart too – you’re in this quiet, leafy neighborhood where actual Münchners live, but you can still hop on the U4 at Böhmerwaldplatz and be in Marienplatz in maybe fifteen minutes.

The apartment-style setup really works here. There’s a proper kitchen (not just some sad mini-fridge situation), separate living areas, and honestly, the bathroom alone is bigger than some entire hotel rooms I’ve stayed in around Schwabing. The building itself has that solid, no-nonsense German construction feel – thick walls mean you won’t hear your neighbors, which is actually a godsend if you’re trying to adjust to jet lag. I stayed during Oktoberfest season once, and while the city center was absolutely chaotic, Bogenhausen felt like this calm refuge where you could decompress after battling the crowds at Theresienwiese.

What I really appreciate is how they’ve managed to make it feel upscale without being stuffy – the 9.2 rating makes sense when you experience the attention to detail. The neighborhood has this authentic Munich vibe too; there’s a great bakery just down the street (locals line up there Saturday mornings), and you’re walking distance to the English Garden’s quieter eastern sections where tourists rarely venture. Parking isn’t the nightmare it is in the Altstadt, and the check-in process was refreshingly straightforward – no pretentious lobby theatrics, just efficient German hospitality. If you want to experience Munich like you actually live here instead of just passing through, this place gets it right.

  Fantastic apartment in a quiet suburb of Munich. Great transport links with buses, trams and trains all within walking distance. The apartment is huge, comfortable and is beautifully designed. A massive balcony gives lovely views over the sports fields. I highly recommended this apartment and location.

  Excellent location for visiting Munich in pleasant residential area close to the city centre (15mins by S-Bahn). Easy access to range of public transport and local food shops. Apartment was spacious, comfortable and spotlessly clean, and had everything we needed for our stay. Hosts were welcoming and helpful.

  Bardzo komfortowy dom, wyposażony we wszystkie niezbędne przedmioty, pokoje duże, łazienka również. Lokalizacja w bardzo spokojnej dzielnicy, blisko sklepy oraz restauracje. Kontakt z wynajmującym bardzo dobry, Petra jest bardzo pomocna i niezwykle sympatyczna. Dom naprawdę warty wypoczynku.
