Overview
First Impressions
Walking into Motel One München Hauptbahnhof, you immediately notice how they’ve managed to make a three-star property feel way more upscale than its rating suggests. The lobby has this sleek, modern design with bold colors and clean lines — honestly, it reminds me more of a boutique hotel than a traditional motel. What really struck me was how efficiently they use the space; everything feels purposeful without being cramped, which is pretty impressive considering how prime this location is in Munich.
Location & Getting Around
You know what’s brilliant about this place? You’re literally a three-minute walk from Munich’s main train station, which means you can drop your bags and be exploring the city center in no time. I mean, the Marienplatz is just a short stroll away, and you’ve got easy access to the S-Bahn for day trips to places like Neuschwanstein Castle. The Ludwigsvorstadt neighborhood itself is actually pretty charming — it’s got this mix of local cafes and international spots that you don’t always find right near major train stations. Plus, there’s parking available if you’re driving, though honestly, you won’t need a car once you’re here.
The Room Experience
The room design follows that same smart, minimalist approach as the lobby. Everything’s compact but thoughtfully laid out — the bed is surprisingly comfortable, and they’ve got these clever storage solutions that actually work. The bathroom is small but modern, with a decent shower that has good water pressure (trust me, this matters after a long day of sightseeing). What I really appreciated was how quiet it stays despite being so close to the Hauptbahnhof — the windows do a solid job of keeping the street noise out.
Dining & Social Spaces
The lobby bar area doubles as a casual dining spot, and it’s got this relaxed vibe where you’ll often find other travelers planning their next day or locals grabbing a quick drink after work. They serve decent coffee and light meals — nothing fancy, but it hits the spot when you don’t want to venture out. The breakfast setup is pretty straightforward but covers all the basics you’d expect. There’s also a restaurant nearby on Schillerstraße that serves excellent Bavarian food if you want something more traditional.
Why Guests Love It
Couples seem to really appreciate this place, and I can see why — it’s got that perfect balance of being centrally located without feeling touristy or overwhelming. The staff genuinely knows the area well and can point you toward the less obvious spots worth visiting. For the price point, you’re getting way more style and convenience than you’d expect, especially in a city where hotel costs can get pretty steep. It’s one of those places where the simple things are done really well, which honestly matters more than having a bunch of amenities you’ll never use.
Munich’s hotels showcase the perfect blend of Bavarian tradition and modern comfort, with many featuring brewery tour services and authentic Alpine hospitality.

Guest Reviews
Modern und neu
The facilities were just what we wanted and the location was convenient
What could be improved: The surrounding area and building work was not good
Sehr schönes Design.
What could be improved: Das Frühstück ist zu teuer.
Very new hotel, right next to the train station, very convenient, lovely staff.
What could be improved: No
What could be improved: I had great deal of problems getting the card which reserved the accommodation, we where not invoiced as originally discussed with hotel and booking.com. Payment was tried to be taken under the incorrect name and wanted a to refund the original guests and invoice the company or take payment from the original card under the correct name. I spent 3 days trying to do this with no resolution to the request very unsatisfied.
Quaint, fun, great breakfast, fun decor, close to train depot, clean
What could be improved: Bedding was uncomfortable , room a bit small for 2 adults, maybe perfect for 1 person
New property, so everything is new and in excellent condition, and staff are very helpful
What could be improved: Probably more catering options instead of breakfast alone, but I understand as it is still a new hotel
no sepersate Breakfast room/not enough “high” tables to have breakfast in the lounge…
A beautiful new boutique hotel with friendly stuff. perfectly located just steps from Munich’s train station. Thoughtfully designed and elegantly styled, it offers a peaceful retreat in the heart of the city – ideal for both business and leisure travelers
Location and comfortable bed
What could be improved: Check in only one person available at reception. We pay a premium €527 for one night due to the high demand during Bauma messe but they can’t have the staff to offer the service !
Also breakfast was very basic
