Overview
First Impressions
The Mercure Hotel München Neuperlach Süd sits in what I’d call Munich’s quieter side — the Ramersdorf-Perlach district that most tourists skip right over. Honestly, that’s part of its charm. This four-star property doesn’t try to wow you with flashy lobbies or over-the-top design, but there’s something refreshingly straightforward about the whole place. You know what struck me most? How many guests I saw checking in for their second or third stay — apparently, people really do come back here more than at other hotels in Munich.
Location & Getting Around
Look, Ramersdorf-Perlach isn’t exactly Marienplatz, but that’s actually why couples seem to love it here (they rate the location 8.1, which surprised me at first). The area feels properly residential — you’re staying where actual Müncheners live, not in some tourist bubble. The U-Bahn connections are solid, and you can get to the city center without much fuss. What I really appreciated was having actual neighborhoods to walk through, with local bakeries and that authentic Munich vibe you miss when you’re staying right in the tourist zone.
The Room Experience
My room was exactly what you’d expect from Mercure — clean, functional, and surprisingly quiet given that you’re still in a major city. The beds are actually comfortable (not always a given), and the bathrooms are modern enough without being sterile. I mean, it’s not going to win any design awards, but everything works properly, which is more than I can say for some fancier places I’ve stayed. The Wi-Fi was reliable, and honestly, that matters more to me than marble countertops.
Breakfast & Practical Matters
The breakfast buffet here is one of those continental spreads that hits all the right notes without getting too fancy about it. Fresh bread, decent coffee, and enough variety that you won’t get bored if you’re staying multiple nights. They’ve got the German breakfast essentials covered — good cold cuts, proper cheese selection, and those little touches that show they actually care. Parking is available on-site too, which is honestly a relief if you’re driving in Munich (and not cheap to find elsewhere).
Why Guests Love It
There’s something to be said for a hotel that just gets the basics right consistently. The staff seems genuinely helpful rather than just going through the motions, and the whole place has this unpretentious efficiency that I found pretty refreshing. Recent guests have been rating the location highly (8.0), and I get why — you’re close enough to everything that matters but far enough out to feel like you’re experiencing real Munich life. It’s the kind of place where you can actually relax instead of constantly feeling like you need to be “doing” something touristy.
The concierge service in Munich can arrange exclusive castle tours, secure reservations at traditional beer halls, and organize day trips to Neuschwanstein Castle and the Bavarian Alps.

Guest Reviews
Good location! Nice facility with pleasant staff. Very accommodating. Upon arrival we found room on 6th floor to be quite warm. Since there is no air conditioning we asked for a fan and they sent it promptly! Grocery store was very near as well!
What could be improved: No ice; no air conditioning; no small washcloths
What could be improved: Zero Wifi reach on 5th floor
All good.
Location, Cleanliness, Food selection for the breakfast, size of the room, Family friendly
What could be improved: Toiletries could have been fully replenished, lobby was crowded on all the 3 days evening with some corporate functions making children & family uncomfortable.
Very good for business trips if you need a hotel close to shopping centers and groceries
Really nice hotel! Very relaxing cozy rooms
What could be improved: The website didn't mention the breakfast was an added cost of 19 euro per day
Comfortable room
Helpful staff
Very good breakfast
What could be improved: I couldn't raise the blinds in the room
Spacious clean family room street parking save no fee or use garage. Missing EV charger. Windows in hotel room can open 💨😊, no airco
What could be improved: The heaters weren’t working, something which I wasn’t informed about upon arrival. When I asked the reason they said they were aware and if I wanted they could switch me to another hotel nearby at no cost which I thought was good behavior on their end but customers should be notified of such things when they first arrive, not after they ask what’s going on…
Welcoming staff, comfortable beds, great gluwein at the bar! Easy access to two U Bahn stations
What could be improved: Free water bottles in the room would be in a nice touch
