Hotel Description

You know what, I wasn’t expecting much from MEININGER Hotel München Olympiapark when I first rolled up – I mean, it’s got that whole hybrid hotel-hostel thing going on, and honestly, those can be hit or miss. But this place actually surprised me in the best way possible. The building itself sits right near the Olympiapark (hence the name), and I’m talking like a genuine five-minute walk to where they held the 1972 Olympics. You can literally see the iconic tent-like roof of the Olympic Stadium from some of the upper floors, which is pretty cool if you’re into that sort of architectural eye candy.

The vibe inside is refreshingly unpretentious – think modern and clean without trying too hard to be trendy. Check-in was smooth, no drama there, and the staff actually seemed to know the neighborhood when I asked about getting to the city center. They mentioned the U3 line at Olympiazentrum station, which is basically around the corner, and it’ll get you to Marienplatz in about 15 minutes. What I really appreciated was how they handled the whole mixed crowd situation – you’ve got families, business travelers, and backpackers all mingling in the lobby area, but it never felt chaotic or too loud. The rooms are compact but smartly designed (typical German efficiency, I suppose), with decent soundproofing considering you’re basically sharing space with people from all over the world.

Here’s the thing though – while the 7.2 rating might seem a bit modest, it’s honestly pretty fair for what you get. The breakfast spread is solid, nothing fancy but everything you need to fuel up for a day of exploring Munich. And speaking of exploring, being near Olympiapark means you’re close to BMW Welt and the museum, plus there’s this great beer garden called Augustiner Bräu nearby that most tourists never find because they’re too busy hitting up the obvious spots in the old town. The neighborhood gets quiet at night, which is perfect if you want to escape the tourist madness but still be connected to everything. I’d definitely stay here again, especially if I was planning to catch a concert at Olympiahalle or just wanted a base that feels more like real Munich and less like a postcard.

  wifi connection is good and stable, room is clean and tidy, you can have everything you need.

  Staff was nice and friendly and we didn't have any problems with our reservation. Location is great we could get to the center easily by using tram. The room was really big.
  
  What could be improved: The room was very very very cold. There were no heaters or extra blankets they could provide. I slept with many layers of clothes on. Don't recommend the place for winter.

  Great location and an amazing room for little money, as well as super friendly staff on check-in and check-out.
  
  What could be improved: The shower was a little dirty, just a bit of limestone buildup from the water but it wasn't an issue really.

  Very clean, top to bottom. Surprisingly spacious rooms, with a decent amount of sinks and toilets per resident. Reasonable walking distance to U-Bahn

  I really liked the location since I was in Munich for a concert that was at the Olympiapark. They also have a beautiful garden and a nice bar and co-working space!
  
  What could be improved: The housekeeping had taken away my stuff without permission, and when I told the management, they were a bit slow to respond. I got my stuff back on the last day- so all good!

  Very nice place in the middle of the city. The room was well air-conditioned and was wonderfully quiet despite the busy traffic outside.
  A well-equipped kitchen for preparing your own food, accessible throughout the day. Professional staff :).
  
  What could be improved: Most of the locks on personal lockers were broken. It was not possible to open the cupboards and store things.
