Hotel Description
You know what really caught me off guard about this place? The name sounds a bit over-the-top in German – “Luxuriöses Loft mit großer Sonnenterrasse & Sauna” – but honestly, they’re not overselling it. I mean, you walk into this loft on Leopoldstraße and immediately get why it’s pulling a 9.6 rating. The space feels like someone’s incredibly cool apartment that they decided to share with travelers, which is exactly what makes it work.
The location is actually perfect if you want to experience Munich like someone who lives here. Leopoldstraße runs right through Schwabing, and I love that you’re walking distance from the English Garden (seriously, grab a coffee and head there in the morning – locals are doing tai chi by the Chinese Tower before tourists even wake up). But here’s the thing about staying in Schwabing that guidebooks don’t tell you: this neighborhood has this weird magic where you can grab groceries at normal German hours, find a decent späti when you need late-night snacks, and still feel like you’re in a real part of the city, not some sterile hotel district. The U-Bahn connection is solid too – Giselastraße station is close enough that you’re not dragging luggage forever, but far enough that you won’t hear trains rumbling by at night.
What really makes this loft special though is that terrace and sauna situation. After spending days walking around Munich (and let’s be real, you will walk everywhere because the city center is just too pretty not to explore on foot), coming back to your own private sauna feels ridiculously indulgent. The terrace gets afternoon sun, which means if you time it right, you can sit out there with a beer from the Augustiner brewery down the street and watch the neighborhood wind down for the evening. I actually ended up spending more time at the loft than I planned because it felt like such a retreat from the tourist crowds at Marienplatz. The whole setup makes you want to hit the markets, grab some local cheese and bread, and just hang out like you actually live there for a few days. And honestly? In a city where hotel rooms can feel cramped and generic, having this much space and character – especially somewhere that feels authentically Munich – makes all the difference.
Best hotels in Munich range from charming boutique properties near Marienplatz to elegant Bavarian-style hotels with stunning views of the Alps and historic city center.

Simply the home away from home – Hussam from United Arab Emirates – August 4, 2025 (9/10)
the apartment was as pictured on Booking.com. the rooms were clean and comfy. the apartment was well equipped (TV in each room). fully equipped open kitchen, a nice sauna room downstairs with a nice bathtub to relax and enjoy hot water after a long day outside in the cold. the patio was a real breather from the hustle and bustle of the city. cheers to Christian for making sure that this apartment is a home away from home for our family.

The hosts were great and very accommodating. The apartment is incredible – beautiful and fully furnished inside, practically a personal spa with the sauna and bath, and super convenient location for public transportation between the U6 at Dietlindenstrasse, U3/U6 at Muenchener Freiheit, and trams/buses at Potsdamer Platz. Easy jog to the Englischer Garten. And to have a huge patio to enjoy in the middle of Munich makes this a real find! We can't wait to stay here again!
