Hotel Description

You know what? I was honestly skeptical when I first pulled up to Lizz Hotel Munich. I mean, a 3-star place with a 9.1 rating seemed almost too good to be true – but sometimes the universe surprises you in the best way possible. The moment I walked through those doors, I got it. There’s something about this place that just works, and it’s not trying to be fancy or impress anyone with marble lobbies or pretentious art installations.

The staff here actually seem to give a damn, which is rarer than you’d think in Munich’s hotel scene. Check-in was refreshingly smooth – no standing around for twenty minutes while they “find your reservation” or whatever. My room was clean in that genuinely clean way, not just surface-level housekeeping clean. The beds are surprisingly comfortable for a mid-range place, and honestly, after walking around Munich all day (those cobblestones will kill your feet), that mattress felt like heaven. What really struck me was the attention to small details – like, the shower actually has decent water pressure, and the Wi-Fi doesn’t cut out every five minutes when you’re trying to upload photos.

The location works really well if you know how to navigate Munich properly. You’re not right in the tourist chaos of Marienplatz, but you’re close enough that a quick U-Bahn ride gets you anywhere you need to go. I actually preferred being slightly removed from all that madness – you can walk back to the hotel in the evening without fighting through crowds of people taking selfies with every building. The neighborhood has that authentic Munich feel, with actual locals grabbing coffee and going about their business. Parking can be a bit tricky (welcome to Munich, right?), but the hotel staff pointed me toward a decent garage about two blocks away. The only minor thing I’d mention is that if you’re a super light sleeper, rooms facing the street can catch some early morning delivery trucks – but honestly, it’s Munich, not a monastery. Overall, Lizz Hotel nails that sweet spot of being genuinely comfortable without breaking the bank, and after staying in overpriced places that deliver half the experience, that 9.1 rating makes perfect sense to me.
