So I’ll be honest – when I first heard “Living Hotel am Olympiapark,” I was expecting something pretty standard, maybe even a bit corporate. But you know what? This place actually surprised me in the best way possible. It’s one of those 3-star spots that doesn’t try to be fancy but gets the important stuff right, and honestly, sometimes that’s exactly what you need.

The location is what really makes this place work. I mean, you’re literally walking distance from Olympiapark, which is perfect if you’re planning to catch something at the stadium or just want to jog around those massive grounds in the morning (the paths are incredible, by the way). But here’s the thing most people don’t realize – you’re also super close to BMW Welt and the museum, and there’s this little Turkish place around the corner that locals actually go to. The U-Bahn connection is solid too, so getting into the city center takes maybe 15 minutes, but you’re far enough out that you’re not dealing with all the tourist chaos and street noise.

What I really appreciated was how the hotel feels lived-in rather than sterile. The rooms aren’t huge – I mean, this is Munich, space costs money – but they’re thoughtfully designed with these little touches that show someone was actually thinking about how real people use hotel rooms. The lighting is warm instead of that harsh white stuff, there’s enough outlets near the bed (revolutionary concept, I know), and the shower pressure is legitimately good. The breakfast setup is pretty straightforward but they do this local bread thing that’s way better than the usual hotel rolls. Check-in was smooth, no weird upselling attempts, and the front desk folks seemed to actually know the neighborhood when I asked about where to grab dinner. The whole vibe is sort of like staying at a well-run apartment building rather than a hotel machine, if that makes sense. With a 7.8 rating, you’re getting solid value without any major headaches – sometimes that’s worth more than marble lobbies and overpriced room service.

  The staff is very nice and helpful. It is at the good location and few minutes walk to public transportation.
  
  What could be improved: Garage was too complicated to enter and exit.

  Pretty good location if you don't expect to be in the very city centre 2 minutes after walking out of the hotel.
  Clean room (although I wish there was staff at the front desk when I was walking by it, so I could opt out of room cleaning – unnecessary for 3 nights).

  The room was warm and quiet and the bed was comfortable. It was all I needed after a hard day's work. The most amazing thing was that the fridge was stocked with beer every day. That is a compliment I have never received in any other hotel in the world.
  
  What could be improved: There was some damage to the bathroom, but the staff were quick to fix the problem. Strange that they hadn't noticed it when they cleaned the room before we checked in.

  The room was great and the hotel comfortable. Location was perfect for us.
  
  What could be improved: I asked, before we arrived, if they could give us non-feather bedding. They assured us that they had removed all feathers from the room. They had swapped the pillows for non feather ones but, on the second day it became obvious that they had left us with feather duvets. My husband became really ill with asthma attacks and ended up sleeping with no bedding and even then struggling to breathe.

  The hotel offered a warm and cozy stay with a well-equipped kitchenette, including coffee, tea, utensils, a microwave, and a fridge. Despite its compact size, the room had ample space, a small dining table, and was exceptionally clean. Highly recommended for a functional and comfortable experience.
  
  What could be improved: The location was convenient with an Edeka supermarket at the doorstep, though the 200m walk to the nearest train or trolleybus stop may not be the easiest for access. Recommend if you have smaller luggages

  Nice neighborhood location. Good selection of restaurants and a biergarten within walking distance. Neighborhood felt safe.

  Mostly the location. Peaceful residential location. The bed was very comfortable and the shower was fine. The little kitchen was well-equipped and an ingenious use of space. I found it very useful. Having the supermarket (and a pizza restaurant) immediately next door was ideal. Not too far from the U-Bahn station Gern.
  
  What could be improved: I longed for something comfortable to sit on. The sofa was very narrow and very uncomfortable. The other seating at the breakfast table was very worn. The desk was hanging off the wall and felt too unsafe to use. The staff expect you to recycle according to German rules without giving you the facilities or information about how to do so. Every country is different.
