Hotel Description
You know what caught me off guard about the Leonardo Hotel & Residenz München? It’s one of those places that doesn’t try too hard to impress you with flashy lobbies or over-the-top design, but somehow ends up being exactly what you need. I mean, sure, it’s a solid 4-star property with that 8.1 rating that suggests people generally leave happy, but there’s something refreshingly straightforward about the whole experience.
The rooms have this clean, contemporary German efficiency thing going on – think sleek lines and muted colors that actually help you sleep instead of keeping you up wondering what the designer was thinking. Honestly, after staying in places where the shower is basically a suggestion and the WiFi cuts out every time someone in the neighboring room turns on a hairdryer, it’s nice to find a hotel where everything just… works. The residenz part means some rooms come with little kitchenettes, which is actually pretty clutch if you’re staying longer or just want to grab groceries from one of those excellent German markets and have breakfast without paying hotel prices.
What I really appreciate is how they’ve managed to feel both business-traveler practical and leisure-friendly without that weird corporate hotel vibe that makes you feel like you’re living in a conference room. The staff seems genuinely helpful rather than scripted – you know the difference when you ask for restaurant recommendations and get actual opinions instead of brochure speak. Munich can be tricky to navigate if you’re not familiar with the U-Bahn system, and having people at the front desk who can actually explain the difference between taking the S-Bahn versus catching a tram makes your life so much easier. Plus, there’s something to be said for staying somewhere that attracts both German business travelers (always a good sign for quality and efficiency) and international visitors who’ve clearly done their homework on where to stay.
Munich hotels provide guests with luxurious accommodations in Bavaria’s capital, known for its impressive architecture and world-famous beer culture.

Excellent location, staff and room quality. Very comfy beds and enjoyed having the small balcony looking out to the neighbourhood. Staff exceptionally friendly.
What could be improved: The hotel was excellent overall but would've liked more toiletries.Gilbert from Austria – 22 May 2025 (9/10)
Good fridge in the room. Pad coffee machine worked surprisingly well.
Double doors keep noise from the hallway out.
What could be improved: There is a microwave but no electric kettle. The curtains are a bit flimsy but still blocked out most light.Danijela from Montenegro – 22 May 2025 (8/10)
Nice location and rooms, pleasant staff.
What could be improved: Wifi was not good.Oana from Romania – 20 May 2025 (9/10)

Sofia from Israel – 13 May 2025 (9/10)
We enjoyed our stay at Leonardo Hotel and Residenze: breakfast was delicious, rooms were clean and quiet, very friendly staff, 200 metres from U-Bank as a bonus.
Adam from Czech Republic – 12 May 2025 (8/10)
Although the hotel is not the newest, seems it is well maintained. Beds and pillows were comfortable. Breakfast was good. Parking lots available in the garrage.
What could be improved: In the mornings there was "a traffic jam" since there are just two elevators. Can be solved by stairs.Shensi from China – 10 May 2025 (8/10)
Cozy room with all the necessary facilities, very small but comfortable. Excellent location for U trains, only a few minutes walk to the station, lots of exhibitions related guests. Breakfast is excellent. Laundry room is available downstairs.
What could be improved: Wifi was very bad in our room.Luka from Slovenia – 8 May 2025 (9/10)
The hotel is really in a quiet neighborhood. So it was really nice. The staff is also very kind and helpful. The room itself was just enough for the two of us. We found the beds comfortable, and the pillows a bit.. weird? But nothing you can't survive for 3 days. Apart from the garage parking, you can park in the neighborhood on the street for cheaper (11euros a day).
What could be improved: Nothing drastic really. Minor things perhaps, like the cups for the coffee machine being in the wardrobe instead of on the table, but this is nothing "negative".Jason from Germany – 7 May 2025 (7/10)
Good location and price.
What could be improved: Room was too small (third bed very squeezed into room). Also single beds not a double was disappointing.Christie from Canada – 5 May 2025 (8/10)
Location was further out of central than expected but closeness to restaurants was good.
What could be improved: Very noisy in the evenings.
