What really sold me on this place, though, is its position in the city. It’s south of the main tourist chaos, which means you’re not fighting crowds of lederhosen-clad visitors every time you leave the hotel, but you can still get downtown quickly. The U-Bahn connections are solid – honestly better than some of the pricier places I’ve stayed closer to Marienplatz. Plus there’s actual parking if you’re driving, and it doesn’t cost more than your room rate (looking at you, city center hotels). The breakfast spread was surprisingly good too – proper coffee, not that watery stuff, and they had these little pretzels that were probably better than what I paid 8 euros for at the train station later. I mean, it’s not going to win any culinary awards, but for a hotel breakfast? Totally decent. The 8.1 rating makes sense to me – it’s the kind of place that just works without any drama, delivers what it promises, and doesn’t leave you with any horror stories to tell when you get home.
