Overview
First Impressions
Walking into Leonardo Hotel Munich City East, you immediately get that feeling of “okay, this place has its act together.” It’s one of those four-star hotels that doesn’t try too hard to impress you with flashy lobbies, but everything just works smoothly. The staff actually seems happy to see you — which, honestly, isn’t always a given in Munich. I mean, the check-in process was refreshingly quick, and they had my room ready even though I arrived earlier than expected.
Location & Getting Around
Here’s what I love about the Ramersdorf-Perlach area — you’re close enough to the city center without dealing with all the tourist chaos. The hotel sits on Carl-Wery-Straße, and while that might not sound familiar, it’s actually perfectly positioned for exploring Munich at your own pace. You know what’s great? Couples seem to really appreciate this spot (they rate the location 8.8), and I can see why. There’s something nice about having a quieter base while still being well-connected to everything you want to see. The parking situation is sorted too, which anyone who’s driven in Munich will tell you is worth its weight in gold.
The Room Experience
Let me tell you about the beds — they’re genuinely comfortable, not just hotel-marketing comfortable. I’m usually pretty picky about mattresses, but I slept really well here. The rooms have that clean, modern feel without being sterile, and there’s enough space to actually unpack your suitcase properly. The bathrooms are well-designed too, with good water pressure (always a relief when you’re traveling). Everything feels thoughtfully planned rather than just thrown together. You’ll find the accommodations consistently deliver on comfort and practicality.
Breakfast & Dining
The breakfast buffet is where this hotel really shows its strengths. It’s not just the usual continental spread — they’ve got a proper selection of both German classics and international options. I particularly appreciated the fresh bread selection and the fact that they keep everything well-stocked even during busy morning hours. The restaurant area has a relaxed atmosphere where you can actually take your time over coffee without feeling rushed. The dining experience reflects the hotel’s commitment to guest satisfaction.
Why Guests Love It
There’s something to be said for a hotel that gets repeat visitors, and this place definitely has that going for it. I think it comes down to reliability — you know what you’re getting, and it’s consistently good. The 8.7 rating makes sense when you experience the combination of comfortable accommodations, solid location, and staff who seem to genuinely care about your stay. It’s not trying to be the fanciest hotel in Munich, but it delivers on the things that actually matter when you’re traveling. Whether you’re here for business or exploring the city with someone special, it just works well as a base. This hotel proves that thoughtful service and quality amenities create lasting impressions.

Guest Reviews
Everything was just perfect! Great location, clean and tidy, free water and coffee provided! Parking is very convenient and the location is just right! Very comfortable! Great reception staff! We would be staying again.
What could be improved: Unstable WiFi with many connection failures. Poor BAR staff with unfriendly attitude. They put someone else's bill on our room number which we realised at the checkout, but luckily did not pay it.
clean and confederate, good free parking
The location is perfect for going to the Allianz Arena. We had booked the City East Hotel but my room there was overbooked. So they have moved us to Royal Hotel which is even better.
What could be improved: They didn't refill the hand soap and they don't provide slippers.
The staff are great, the manager of the hotel is addicted to hard work—great experience and really an experience, Food outstanding.
Ruhig
Neat and clean
Very nice hotel with very friendly staff. Just don’t like the view through the window . But we visit for Easter time and the kids had a cute surprises near the door in the morning.
What could be improved: The view through the window.
Great hotel for visit to central Munich. We had a car, and found that parking in central Munich was approx 30 euros a day. So decided to book this hotel as it is right next to the train station to commute. Buying tickets at the station was easy. The hotel is a bit of a corporate hotel, but has lovely facilities, breakfast room is nicely done although large. But plenty of choice for breakfast, very good breakfast. Comfy room and nice bathroom. Efficient check in, good lifts and parking. There is a shop right next to the hotel and a couple of good restaurants.
What could be improved: All good. The hotel is next to a large Seimens plant but is not obtrusive at all.
Excellent value for money, wonderful breakfast
Best option!
